<p>Overview</p> <p>Annual Pay Scale: $57,900-$73,650</p> <p>Sign on bonus: $5,000 to be paid over 18 months</p> <p>The Physical Education/Health Teacher reports directly to the Education Director and develops and coordinates the implementation of the Stetson School's Health and Physical Education program. Duties include curriculum development, oversight, and coordination, and teaching Health and PE classes.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>Plans health and physical education curriculum based on the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks.Prepares and implements health and physical education lesson plans to meet the needs of individual students.Designs, modifies, and/or selects instructional materials and strategies appropriate to individual student needs.Employs differentiated instruction using a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media and materials.Utilizes appropriate assessment techniques, instructional materials and strategies to implement instruction with a variety of learners. Develops and implements workout programs to meet the needs of individual students.Prepares budgets for physical education equipment purchase and installation.Oversees facility and equipment safety and maintenance.Budgets, plans, and requests needed supplies and materials to implement physical education programs.Assesses physical education needs and communicates relevant needs to the Educational Director.Maintains an inventory of all physical education equipment. Trains/teaches in the appropriate use of Physical Education equipment.Models and demonstrates care giver qualities that treat all students and staff with dignity and respect. Supports and incorporates Stetson School's Culture of Recovery philosophy in daily interactions.Creates a safe and effective classroom environment for student learning, adhering to Stetson's Student Supervision Guidelines.Manages student classroom behavior in order to ensure safe and secure learning.Develops a code of conduct for the classroom consistent with established administrative policies and develops rules of classroom behavior which are enforces in a fair and just manner.Teaches socially acceptable behavior employing techniques such as behavior modification and positive reinforcement. Sets limits and responds to student behaviors in accordance with Stetson School's Behavior Management Policy and the general principles of Crisis Prevention Insitute (CPI)Performs the activities of CPI physical intervention as noted in the attached Addendum to Essential Functions Regarding Specific Activities of CPI Restraint Process.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>B.A. in physical education or related field. Masters preferred.Valid Massachusetts Teaching license in Physical Education, 5-12</p>
