<p>This position reports on-site.</p> <p>Summary: The Business Banking Portfolio Team Lead is responsible for leading a team of Business Banking Portfolio Managers in the management and growth of client relationships. This individual plays a critical leadership role in ensuring high-quality portfolio performance, client satisfaction, and adherence to credit and risk management policies. Reporting directly to the Head of Business Banking, the Team Lead will help drive strategic initiatives, mentor staff, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to support the success of the Business Banking division.</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Employee is responsible for adherence to all compliance programs and the completion of all required and assigned training by established due dates </li><li>Employee is responsible for understanding their duties and responsibilities as it relates to the Bank Secrecy Act, ("BSA"), Anti-Money Laundering Act ("AML"), and Office of Foreign Assets Control Regulations ("OFAC"). This includes understanding any responsibilities outlined under the Bank's BSA/ OFAC Program, participating in any required training, and promptly complying with all reporting requirements </li><li>Understands and complies with requirements of all laws and regulations applicable to the position </li></ul> <p>Team Leadership & Development:</p> <ul> <li>Supervise, coach, and develop a team of Business Banking Portfolio Managers. </li><li>Provide guidance on credit structuring, risk assessment, and client relationship strategies. </li><li>Set performance goals and conduct regular reviews to ensure accountability and professional growth. </li></ul> <p>Portfolio Oversight:</p> <ul> <li>Monitor overall portfolio health and ensure timely review of existing credit facilities. </li><li>Identify and mitigate emerging risks within the portfolio. </li><li>Ensure compliance with internal credit policies, regulatory requirements, and risk guidelines. </li></ul> <p>Client Relationship Management:</p> <ul> <li>Support Portfolio Managers in delivering superior client service and tailored financial solutions. </li><li>Partner with Relationship Managers and Credit Officers to enhance the client experience. </li><li>Act as an escalation point for complex client or credit-related matters. </li></ul> <p>Strategic Execution:</p> <ul> <li>Collaborate with the Head of Business Banking and cross-functional teams to execute strategic initiatives. </li><li>Analyze portfolio trends, generate performance reports, and provide insights to senior leadership. </li><li>Contribute to policy development, process improvement, and innovation in portfolio management. </li></ul> <p>Operational Excellence:</p> <ul> <li>Ensure efficient onboarding, annual reviews, and servicing of client relationships. </li><li>Oversee timely completion of credit memos, covenant tracking, and client documentation. </li><li>Champion the use of systems and tools to enhance productivity and accuracy. </li></ul> <p>Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has direct supervisory responsibilities</p> <p>Salary Range: The salary range budgeted for this position represents the Company's good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The compensation offered to a candidate may vary depending on several factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and location.</p> <p>Geographic Location:</p> <ul> <li>Irvine, CA: $135,000 - $155,000 (Annually) </li><li>Tampa, FL: $110,000 - $130,000 (Annually) </li></ul> <p>Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a First Foundation Inc. position. Currently, we cannot sponsor or take over the sponsorship of an Employment Visa.</p> <p>Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.</p> <p>Education and/or Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred. </li><li>7+ years of experience in commercial or business banking, with at least 2 years in a leadership or team lead role. </li><li>Strong credit analysis and risk management background. </li><li>Proven ability to lead teams, manage complex client relationships, and drive performance. </li></ul> <p>Skills</p> <ul> <li>Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with C-suite clients. </li><li>Excellent attention to detail and time management in a deadline-driven environment. </li><li>Proficient in financial analysis software, loan systems, and Microsoft Office Suite. </li><li>Knowledge of regulatory requirements impacting commercial banking. </li><li>Experience with portfolio management for middle-market or small business clients. </li><li>Familiarity with CRM and loan origination platforms. </li><li>Excellent communication, strategic thinking, and interpersonal skills. </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
