<p>WAYLAND PUBLIC SCHOOLS</p> <p>EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY</p> <p>2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR</p> <p>JOB POSTING</p> <p>Title: High School Math Teacher</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>Wayland Public Schools seeks a seasoned practitioner for the next High School Math Teacher who as the classroom teacher is responsible for creating an engaging, equitable, and inclusive learning environment. The teacher develops and implements learning experiences that foster curiosity, support student achievement and mathematical thinking, and promote a strong sense of belonging and community for all students.</p> <p>Key Duties and Responsibilities (Not limited to):</p> <ul> <li>Create an environment of belonging that supports students' academic, social, and emotional growth </li><li>Embrace and support the diversity of all students, ensuring equitable access to learning </li><li>Plan and deliver engaging instruction aligned with the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and district standards, including SEL integration </li><li>Monitor student progress and adjust instruction, materials, and assessments to meet diverse learning needs </li><li>Maintain high expectations for all students and provide appropriate supports to ensure success </li><li>Collaborate regularly with colleagues, including grade-level teams, PLCs, and specialists, to support curriculum development and student needs </li><li>Work closely with special education, ESL, counseling staff, METCO, Academic Support staff, and administration to support all learners </li><li>Communicate proactively and effectively with families/caregivers regarding student progress and development </li><li>Participate actively in school and district initiatives, goals, and professional development </li><li>Stay current with best practices in content area instruction and high school pedagogy </li><li>Support efforts to address systemic barriers and promote equity within the school community </li><li>Perform teaching all classes assigned by the Principal or department head and carry out other essential duties as may be required </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Proven track record of high student achievement across the field of mathematics with a focus on struggling learners </li><li>Proficiency of differentiated instruction so that all learners may be successful in the classroom. </li><li>Minimum of 1-3 years of successful classroom teaching </li><li>Citizenship, residency, or work visa required </li></ul> <p>Education and Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in content area or related field required; Master's degree preferred </li><li>MA DESE Licensure in applicable content area or eligibility required </li><li>SEI Endorsement required </li><li>Dual licensure in Special Education or ESL highly desirable </li><li>Knowledge of adolescent development (academic, social, and emotional) </li><li>Experience with student-centered teaching practices and heterogeneous classrooms </li><li>Familiarity with Massachusetts Standards-Based Curriculum, UDL, and SEL practices </li><li>Proficiency with instructional technology, specifically the use of dynamic graphing software and 1:1 classroom environments </li><li>Experience in a diverse public high school setting preferred </li><li>Experience working with students with disabilities and/or English language learners preferred </li><li>Experience with Google Suite and PowerSchool preferred </li><li>Bilingual (Spanish) candidates strongly encouraged to apply </li></ul> <p>Salary Range:</p> <p>Commensurate with the WEA Unit A Salary Scale Example: Master's through Master's +30 range $95,754 - $126,651</p> <p>Work Schedule:</p> <p>2026-2027 School Year; school-year schedule in alignment with the WEA contract Unit A</p> <p>Wayland Public Schools (WPS) provides a desirable benefits package for full-time employees which include: health, employer sponsored Health Savings Account, dental, vision, long-term disability, life insurance, 403(b), Dependent Care Account, Flexible Spending Accounts, and participation in retirement pension boards.</p> <p>WPS is an equal opportunity employer committed to the fullest extent to the principle of the dignity of all people and of their labors and will take action to ensure that any individual within the District who is responsible for hiring and/or personnel supervision understands that applicants are employed, assigned, and promoted without regard to their race, color, religion, national origin, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, genetic information, ancestry, military status, disability or pregnancy or pregnancy-related condition.
