The cover letter should address your specific interest in the position and outline skills and experience that directly relate to this position.</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>The EEG Technologist performs routine EEGs, LTMs, as well as more advanced testing (per program guidelines); recognizes clinically significant events and patterns; follows policy and procedures regarding critical test results; communicates with team members. Monitors LTM patients (on-site), evaluates, annotates, and classifies ictal, interictal, and paroxysmal events from EEG/video data. Work at Michigan Medicine and become a victor for the greater good.</p> <p>What Benefits can you Look Forward to?</p> <ul> <li>Excellent medical, dental and vision coverage effective on your very first day </li><li>2:1 Match on retirement savings </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities*</p> <ul> <li>Perform head measurement/marking according to the international 10-20 measuring system and accurately place and secure electrodes. </li><li>Learning to acquire satisfactory EEG recordings according to ACNS guidelines. </li><li>Can fix electrodes, perform activation procedures such as HV and Photic, disconnect and move patients, and set up rooms. </li><li>Performs routine and portable EEGs on any patient under general supervision. </li><li>Can recognize basic EEG state changes (awake/drowsy/ sleep) </li><li>Has basic seizure recognition knowledge. </li><li>Participates in EEG rounds and EEG reviews. </li><li>Meets requirements of Technologist I. </li><li>Meets the ASET's National Competency Skill Standards </li><li>Independently performs routine and portable EEGs on any patient. </li><li>Performs advanced testing under general supervision. </li><li>Has advanced knowledge of EEG patterns. </li><li>Has advanced knowledge of seizure recognition. </li><li>Trains students during their clinical rotation. </li><li>Performs measurement check-offs for students. </li><li>Has hospital training to alert supervisor and/or activate hospital systems, such as rapid response, cardiac arrest, etc.,per established protocols when encountering patient clinical issues. </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications*</p> <p>Electroencephalograph Technologist Registered</p> <ul> <li>ABRET R.EEG T. credential required. A candidate eligible to take the exam according to the ABRET pathways will be considered; registration required two years after start of employment. </li></ul> <p>Electroencephalograph Technologist Non-Registered</p> <ul> <li>High school graduation with basic science course work or an equivalent combination of education and experience </li><li>Basic knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of the body </li><li>Eligibility or certification by the American Board of Registration for Electroencephalographic Technologist </li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with patients and healthcare team members </li></ul> <p>Desired Qualifications*</p> <p>Electroencephalograph Technologist Registered</p> <ul> <li>High school graduation with basic science course work or an equivalent combination of education and experience </li><li>Certification by the American Board of Registration for Electroencephalographic Technologist </li><li>A minimum of 30 credits should be obtained every 5 years covering all modalities performed by the technologist. This is a minimum requirement and is superseded by individual credential requirements as set forth by ABRET. </li><li>Regular quality assessments of technical skills must be performed and documented at least yearly. </li></ul> <p>Modes of Work</p> <p>Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department.
