As a nurturing university community, we challenge students, faculty, staff, and administration to fully realize their highest academic, professional, and personal potential.</p> <p>Position Description Summary/Purpose:</p> <p>The Director of Community Outreach plays a critical role in advancing Goodwin University's healthcare training initiatives. This full-time, 40-hour-per-week position is responsible for developing and managing partnerships with community-based certified nurses' aid (CNA) training sites and supporting the design and implementation of proprietary CNA and phlebotomy programs. This role will focus on expanding outreach across the state of Connecticut and into western Massachusetts, including the coordination of mobile classroom and training opportunities. The Director will also collaborate closely with the University's Admissions Department to facilitate seamless pathways for CNA graduates to continue their healthcare education at Goodwin.</p> <p>Essential Job Functions/Primary Responsibilities:</p> <p>(The essential functions or duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment to the position.)</p> <p>Under the supervision of the Senior Vice President of Enrollment, Marketing & Communications the successful candidate will:</p> <ul> <li>Develop, manage, and sustain community-based partnerships with CNA and phlebotomy training providers </li><li>Design and implement proprietary, standards-based CNA and phlebotomy curriculum and training models </li><li>Coordinate and oversee mobile classroom and training deployments to broaden regional access </li><li>Collaborate with the Admissions team to support the matriculation of CNA graduates into degree and certificate programs </li><li>Represent Goodwin University at community events, workforce forums, and regional training meetings </li><li>Monitor industry trends, certification standards, and regulatory requirements in both Connecticut and Massachusetts </li></ul> <p>Other Functions</p> <ul> <li>Perform other related duties as assigned by the Sr. Vice President </li><li>Continue professional development and maintain knowledge of workforce trends in healthcare education </li><li>Support other department staff in cross-functional initiatives and outreach strategies </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Ability and Skill:</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrated commitment to developing and fostering best practices and policies to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion, and build an environment in which all members of the University community are treated with respect and dignity </li><li>Build strong, sustainable relationships with diverse community and institutional partners </li><li>Work effectively across internal departments and external organizations </li><li>Develop, scale, and manage educational programming and community-based initiatives </li><li>Communicate clearly and professionally in both written and verbal forms </li><li>Prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and adapt to evolving project demands </li><li>Represent the university with professionalism and cultural sensitivity in diverse community settings </li><li>Travel regionally and manage mobile operations as needed </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Education, Training and Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in education, healthcare administration, public health, or a related field preferred </li><li>Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in community outreach, healthcare workforce development, or higher education programming </li><li>Familiarity with CNA and phlebotomy certification structures in Connecticut and Massachusetts </li><li>Experience with mobile training delivery and regional partnership coordination </li></ul> <p>Special Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Valid driver's license and access to an insured vehicle for travel across Connecticut and western Massachusetts </li><li>Own an insured vehicle </li></ul> <p>Physical and Mental Requirements:</p> <p>Work Environment None Under 1/3 1/3 to 2/3 Over 2/3 Outdoor Weather Conditions X Work with fumes or airborne particles X Work near moving mechanical parts X Risk of electrical shock X Vibration X</p> <p>Physical Activity None Under 1/3 1/3 to 2/3 Over 2/3 Standing X Walking X Sitting X Talking & Hearing X Using hands/fingers to handle/feel X Climbing or balancing X Bending, pulling, pushing X Driving X</p> <p>Lifting Requirements None Under 1/3 1/3 to 2/3 Over 2/3 Up to 10 pounds X Up to 25 pounds X Up to 50 pounds X Up to 75 pounds X Up to 100 pounds X Over 100 pounds X</p> <p>Vision Requirements:</p> <p>X Close vision (i.e. clear vision at 20 inches or less)</p> <p>_ Distance vision (i.e. clear vision at 20 feet or more)</p> <p>_ Color vision (i.e. ability to identify and distinguish colors)</p> <p>_ Peripheral vision (i.e. ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or</p> <p>left and right while the eyes are fixed on a given point)</p> <p>_ Depth perception (i.e. three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and</p> <p>spatial relationships)</p> <p>___ No special vision requirements</p> <p>Full-Time Employee Benefits:</p> <ul> <li>Medical Insurance </li><li>Dental Insurance </li><li>Vision Insurance </li><li>Pet Insurance </li><li>401k employer match </li><li>Employee & dependent life insurance </li><li>Great tuition benefits for employee, spouse & dependents </li><li>PTO program </li><li>Flexible work schedules / work from home opportunities </li></ul> <p>(This job description does not constitute an employment agreement between The University and employee.
