For more information contact the Human Resources Recruitment office at 361-826-3300 to obtain Form SSA-1945 Windfall Elimination Provision.</p> <p>Grade: 101</p> <p>Salary: $12.22 Hourly</p> <p>Department: Utilities</p> <p>Position Type: Temporary/Paid Internship</p> <p>E-mail: MelissaM2@cctexas.com</p> <p>ATTENDANCE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION ARE AS FOLLOWS:Rotating 10-15-hour work week, Monday - Friday. Work schedule/hours may vary depending on school schedule. Must be available to work additional hours as needed.</p> <p>Who May Apply?</p> <p>All persons legally authorized to work in the United States. Must be currently enrolled as a student pursuing a Graduate level degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Biology or related discipline.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Utilize ESRI ArcGIS software to create, update, and maintain City GIS data based on organizational standards. </li><li>Read and interpret county documents such as utility plans, property plats, deeds, etc. </li><li>Import and georeference GPS, drone, and other data into the City GIS database. </li><li>Utilize ESRI ArcGIS, Microsoft Office, and other software to create presentation quality maps and exhibits. </li><li>Analyze, correlate, and display data from a variety of sources. </li><li>Print maps/exhibits on both normal-scale and large-scale printers/plotters. </li><li>Use a GPS receiver to collect data such as hydrants, manholes, and parcel corners. </li><li>Provide support to departmental goals and objectives by coordinating special projects. </li><li>May be asked to perform other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Applicants must be enrolled and attending an accredited university or graduate school and pursuing a Bachelor's degree in the Engineering or related discipline </li><li>Must have permission of the institution at which he/she is enrolled to participate in the internship program </li><li>A valid driver's license is required. Successful out of state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire </li></ul> <p>Other Information:</p> <p>Basis of Rating</p> <p>Application review and the City may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.</p> <p>Closing Statement</p> <ul> <li>Selected applicants must be able to pass a background investigation and a pre-employment drug test. </li><li>Any position that lists a minimum qualification for education level and/or license/certification will require the applicant to provide proof of documentation if selected for hire into the position with the City of Corpus Christi. </li><li>In the event of an emergency, employees are required to work to provide for the safety and well-being of the general public, including the delivery and restoration of vital services. </li><li>This position is classified as "Safety Sensitive".
