At the Ideal Tridon Group, connections aren't just what we make-they're the heart of everything we do.</p> <p>Scope:</p> <p>The Inventory & Cost Accounting Manager will play a key role in managing and optimizing cost-related activities for Support Systems. Lead the cost accounting and inventory control functions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is critical to ensuring the accuracy of product cost data, driving operational insights, and supporting strategic decision-making. The successful candidate will be a subject matter expert in manufacturing cost flows-from raw materials to finished goods-and will play a key role in Macola ERP optimization, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration. This position will collaborate with cross-functional teams and business leaders to drive consistency, accuracy, and alignment in cost management practices for all Support System locations.</p> <p>Responsibility and Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Serve as the subject matter expert for manufacturing processes, product cost flows, and cost of sales. </li><li>Perform monthly analytics on cost of sales, absorption, purchase price variance (PPV), and other key metrics to ensure accuracy and timeliness of standards and gross margins. </li><li>Maintain the integrity and accuracy of product cost data; support month-end close activities as required. </li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze cost accounting data and provide actionable insights to drive business performance. </li><li>Lead the annual standard cost setting process-including cost roll-ups, BOM and routing reviews, and ERP updates-to support the annual budgeting process. </li><li>Assist FP&A in providing product cost-related information and modeling for forecasts and refreshes. </li><li>Support audits and respond to ad-hoc cost accounting requests. </li><li>Establish and continuously improve inventory management policies, procedures, and KPIs. </li><li>Partner with manufacturing, supply chain, and engineering to ensure accurate BOMs, routings, and material master data. Maintain materials data through Macola ERP and Production Order Processing modules. </li><li>Develop/mentor cost accountant/analyst by delegating process improvement initiatives, documentation, ad-hoc analysis, and close activities. </li><li>Review and approve month-end journal entries prepared by direct reports. </li><li>Coordinate and deliver training to finance, accounting, manufacturing, and procurement teams. </li><li>Assess current cost accounting policies, procedures, and systems, and help design workflows that are consistent across all locations within the existing ERP environment. </li><li>Identify, coordinate, and execute process improvement opportunities across the Support Systems division. </li><li>Maintains and updates depreciation schedules and journal entries accordingly. </li><li>Perform oversight Fixed Assets Management for Support Systems. </li></ul> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Provides development, standardization and documentation of cost processes and reporting for Support Systems. </li><li>Performs financial and operational analysis as needed. </li><li>Tracking, trending, modeling, variance analysis for Support Systems. </li><li>Identifies and drives lean initiatives/cost saving programs for Support Systems. </li><li>Process documentation, risk identification, audit, SOX. Provide financial insights to support business decisions and operational improvements. </li><li>Collaborate with various departments to monitor and control costs effectively. </li><li>Ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations. </li><li>Generate internal operational reports to support financial and operational decision-making. Assist with month-end close journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting. </li><li>Track and manage inventory, including valuations and reconciliation processes. </li><li>Coordinate the annual physical inventory process with external auditors. </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. </li><li>Four to seven years cost and financial accounting, forecasting and analysis. </li><li>MBA, CPA or CMA preferred. </li><li>Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, including standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation methods. </li><li>Standard cost accounting, bill of materials, cost, and inventory reporting. </li><li>Strong project management abilities, with a track record of successfully leading cost optimization initiatives and process improvement projects. </li><li>At least 5 years of experience in a supervisory or manager role. </li><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills. </li><li>Excellent organizational skills, with ability to "multi-task" effectively. </li><li>Solid analytical and problem-solving skills. </li><li>Exceptional attention to detail. Work as a team player. </li><li>Self-motivated and positive attitude. </li><li>Experience working with ERP systems and cost accounting modules </li><li>Experience w/ Macola ERP, Production Order Processing (POP), and WiSys Agility would be preferred. </li><li>Proficiency using Microsoft Excel and other financial software tools. </li><li>Occasional travel to other Support Systems locations as needed. </li></ul>
