Check out this video and learn more and discover the "Power of We."</p> <p>Job Details</p> <ul> <li>Department Location: Utah Valley Hospital </li><li>Job Profiles: Echo/Vascular Technician </li><li>Scheduled Weekly Hours: PRN or as needed. </li><li>Shift: Hours and shifts will vary depending on need </li></ul> <p>Scope</p> <p>This position performs a variety of diagnostic cardiac/vascular exams under the direction of a physician for identification of abnormalities leading to patient diagnosis.</p> <p>Job Essentials</p> <ul> <li>Competency; Must demonstrate technical competence for performance protocols specific to the department. </li><li>Prioritizes and schedules exams. Coordinates exams with medical staff, physician offices, other caregivers and patients. </li><li>Prepares for the exam by following patient identification processes, educating patient and family on procedure, and transporting the patient. Performs ultrasound exams consistent with related protocols and in a timely manner. Ensures patient safety and comfort and achieves quality outcomes. </li><li>Mentor caregivers and students on basic equipment use and procedural technique. </li><li>After the exam, the patient returns to the room and ensures the patient's stability and safety. </li><li>Throughout the process, identifies patient needs and appropriately communicates and coordinates patient care with physicians, other caregivers, patients, and family. </li><li>Appropriate documents, exam results and other needed information. Accurately charges for exams and supplies. </li><li>Cleans and maintains equipment and work area and stocks supplies. Follow appropriate channels to coordinate repair or supply needs. Supports team and quality improvement processes and initiatives. </li><li>Participates in educational opportunities to ensure clinical competence and develop additional skills and knowledge. Provides education for other caregivers, fellows, and students as appropriate. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>ARDMS, ARRT or CCI certification in cardiac or vascular sonography. </li><li>Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers. </li><li>-and- </li><li>One of the three of the following national registry credentials through ARDMS, ARRT or CCI as applicable to the department. Multiple registries are available within each specialty. </li><li>Medical sonography </li><li>Vascular technology </li><li>Adult echo </li><li>Adult congenital echo </li><li>Pediatric echo </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree. </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Carrying, Climbing, Crawling, Hearing/Listening, Lifting, Manual Dexterity, Pulling/Pushing, Seeing, Speaking, Squatting/Kneeling, Standing, Walking </li></ul> <p>Location:</p> <p>Intermountain Health Utah Valley Hospital</p> <p>Work City:</p> <p>Provo</p> <p>Work State:</p> <p>Utah</p> <p>Scheduled Weekly Hours:</p> <p>0</p> <p>The hourly range for this position is listed below.
