<p>This job will be accepting job applications until the position is filled.</p> <p>Annual Salary:</p> <p>$43,797.00 - $46,897.50</p> <p>Hourly:</p> <p>$22.46 - $24.05</p> <p>Department:</p> <p>Public Service, Public Service</p> <p>Division:</p> <p>Streets & Sidewalks</p> <p>FLSA:</p> <p>Non-Exempt</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>In this role, you will be responsible for the operation of motor equipment requiring a commercial driver's license for the construction, repair, and maintenance of municipal rights-of-way and drainage systems.</p> <p>Examples of Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Drives and operates motor equipment such as dump trucks, asphalt trucks, rollers, bush hogs, tractors and similar motor equipment. </li><li>Completes work orders and daily worksheets. </li><li>Performs daily maintenance on equipment operated and maintains records of such maintenance. </li><li>May operate other heavy equipment such as backhoe or front-end loader when required. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Basic Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and two (2) years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. </li><li>Valid SC Commercial Driver's License Permit - Class B. </li><li>Must obtain Commercial Driver's License - Class B within 6 months of employment. </li></ul> <p>Other Necessary Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>May require evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled. </li><li>In the event of major storms or other emergency situations, this position may be subject to 24-hour shifts or any other emergency schedule that is necessary to meet the City's needs. </li></ul> <p>The City of Charleston is firmly committed to Equal Employment Opportunity ( EEOC) as a fundamental policy to be implemented and observed in our daily operation.
