<p>South Bend Community School Corporation</p> <p>Job Description: High School Computer Science Teacher</p> <p>Immediate Supervisor: Building Principal</p> <p>Position Purpose</p> <p>Under the general supervision of the School Principal, the High School Computer Science Teacher will provide instruction in multiple computer science courses, including Principles of Computing, Software Development, Website and Database Development, and the Software Development Capstone. The teacher will foster computational thinking, coding skills, and problem-solving abilities to prepare students for real-world applications of computer science.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Develop and administer a computer science curriculum aligned with school district goals and industry standards. </li><li>Teach courses such as Principles of Computing, Software Development, Website and Database Development, and the Software Development Capstone to high school students. </li><li>Create an engaging and inclusive learning environment that encourages hands-on coding, software development, and project-based learning. </li><li>Integrate modern programming languages, software engineering practices, and database management into instruction. </li><li>Assess and track student progress through projects, assignments, and assessments, adapting teaching methods to meet individual learning needs. </li><li>Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to enhance instructional materials and student learning experiences. </li><li>Collaborate with faculty members to strengthen the computer science curriculum and participate in professional development opportunities. </li><li>Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and course materials per district policies. </li><li>Encourage parental involvement and ensure effective communication with students and parents. </li><li>Uphold classroom management standards and ensure student behavior aligns with school and district policies. </li><li>Perform other related duties as assigned by the Principal or designated administrators. </li></ul> <p>Equipment</p> <ul> <li>Use standard educational and office technology, including computers, projectors, software development tools, and online learning platforms. </li></ul> <p>Travel Requirements</p>
