<p>Job Title: Structural Designer</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>This role involves heavy foundation and structural steel design, focusing on projects related to nuclear power plants and conventional power generation. The designer will be responsible for structural and civil design tasks, including the design of pipe racks and understanding loads. The projects primarily involve foundation design for tanks and other relatively small structures.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Conduct structural and civil design for nuclear power plants, including foundation designs for tanks and small structures. </li><li>Engage in heavy industrial design for conventional generation projects, such as simple cycle power plants and emission control projects. </li><li>Perform structural calculations, develop engineering reports, and create specifications and design drawings. </li><li>Review relevant codes, design documents, specifications, and construction documents to support structural design and project development. </li><li>Utilize industry-standard engineering software, such as STAAD Pro, ANSYS, and Mathcad, to perform design tasks. </li><li>Collaborate with multi-discipline engineers and designers to ensure project success. </li><li>Prepare engineering designs and drawings based on the contracted scope of work, project specifications, while adhering to established budgets and schedules. </li><li>Follow written and verbal instructions in accordance with established design practices, standards, and procedures. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>10+ years of experience in structural or civil design and drafting, particularly in utility, power plant, or industrial project scopes. </li><li>Proficiency in structural design, nuclear power, and fossil fuel projects. </li><li>Experience with structural calculations and design studies. </li><li>Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multi-discipline teams. </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>B.S. in Civil Engineering with a structural focus. </li><li>Experience with seismic analysis and design of structures, systems, and components for nuclear power plants. </li><li>Experience with AutoDesk Advance Steel. </li><li>Professional Engineering (PE) license in any state within the US, with the capability to obtain additional licenses through comity. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>The role offers a hybrid schedule, with the option to work on-site in Mt Laurel or fully remote.
