<p>Road & Rail Services</p> <p>Financial Planning & Analytics</p> <p>Basic purpose of position:</p> <ul> <li>To assist in various aspects of the accounting process to include collect, monitor, analyze and audit various financial information. </li><li>Also, assist with developing financial plans and forecast used to provide reliable data for decision-making. </li><li>Prepare accurate monthly financial reports & assist in the preparation of presentations. </li></ul> <p>Expectation:</p> <p>To provide exceptional service to both external and internal customers by projecting a positive attitude at all times. Perform error free work while looking for ways to improve current and future processes.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Provide FP&A support related to planning, forecasting, reporting and KPI's in a timely manner; </li><li>Develop and maintain financial plans and forecast for reporting purposes; </li><li>Partner with other functional areas to develop KPI's, goals and business reviews; and report on these KPI's </li><li>Dive deep into financial data and become a subject matter expert to provide additional insights; </li><li>Create presentation that provide insightful analysis for decision making; </li><li>Identify and research variances to forecasts, plans and prior-year expenses, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement; </li></ul> <p>Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Business or related field, Accounting or Finance is preferred.</p> <p>Experience Requirements: Entry level</p> <p>Skills, Licenses, Certification, and/or Special Training:</p> <ul> <li>Expert knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting; </li><li>Understanding of and ability to adhere to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles; </li><li>Strong written and verbal skills that show an ability to communicate effectively and professionally with the team, management, and external parties; </li><li>Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently under challenging reporting deadlines with high volume while maintaining accuracy; </li><li>Constantly seek new ways to improve, learn, and grow; </li><li>Must demonstrate strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills. </li><li>Ability to navigate BI tools such as Power BI or Pentaho </li></ul> <p>Physical, Mental & Sensory Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Must be able to hear work or safety instructions verbally communicated in a normal speaking voice; </li><li>Must be able to work independently; </li><li>Ability to communicate telephonically for periods of greater than 4 hours; </li><li>Ability to frequently view and change data on a standard computer; </li><li>Ability to simultaneously handle multiple tasks; </li><li>Able to sit for long periods up to 6 hours. </li></ul> <p>Company Overview</p> <p>Established in 1987, Road & Rail Services has grown and diversified to become a leading provider of rail-related services in North America.
