<p>Job Responsibilities</p> <p>Under limited supervision,</p> <ul> <li> <p>Provides mental health assessments and therapeutic services including crisis management and intervention.</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinates mental health services in assigned areas.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists the mental health administrator to provide mental health services oversight at Broad River, Manning and Lee Correctional Institutions.</p> </li><li> <p>Conducts assessments and provides treatment recommendations and counseling for inmates in LLBMU; and maintains accurate documentation.</p> </li><li> <p>Conducts group counseling for specified inmates.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides regular feedback to mental health team, medical and security staff on referred inmates.</p> </li><li> <p>Participates in multi-disciplinary treatment team.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides crisis intervention as requested by mental health and/or medical staff.</p> </li><li> <p>Participates in regional on call pool to provide after hours coverage to the institutions covered in the area.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensures inmates receive regular psychiatric appointments in compliance with policy and provider recommendations.</p> </li></ul> <p>Must successfully complete four (4) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.</p> <p>Questions regarding the application process, this job posting or any other postings with the SCDC should be directed to:</p> <p>Recruiting and Employment Services</p> <p>(803) 896-1649</p> <p>Employment@doc.sc.gov</p> <p>Minimum and Additional Requirements</p> <p>State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:</p> <p>A master's degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences or a related field and professional experience in a mental health, human service or social service program.</p> <p>SCDC Minimum Requirements:</p> <ul> <li> <p>A master's degree in clinical social work, counseling, or related degree and two (2) years of experience in counseling.</p> </li><li> <p>Must be licensed as an LPC-A, LPC, LMSW, LISW, or LMFT or higher</p> </li></ul> <p>OR</p> <ul> <li>Have comparable out of state licensure with eligibility for SCLLR license which must be obtained within 6 months. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>Prefer LPC, LPC-S, LISW-CP-S, LMFT, or LMFT-S license.</p> <p>Additional Comments</p> <p>The South Carolina Department of Corrections is committed to providing equal opportunities to all applicants and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy), national origin, age (40 or older), disability or genetic information.</p> <p>Supplemental questions are considered part of your official application.
