Own the cost estimating and modeling processes, continuously improving accuracy and effectiveness at all product stages.</p> <ul> <li>To develop and maintain a data/knowledge pipeline for effective cost estimation of automotive products </li><li>Create detailed cost models for electromechanical products (e.g., electrical/mechanical components, PCBAs, and wire harnesses), providing data-driven insights for critical decision-making. </li><li>Serve as the technical advisor in should-costs and Value Analysis / Value Engineering (VAVE), identifying cost reduction strategies, and value capture opportunities. </li><li>Communicate and present critical cost estimation strategies, sharing best practices across functional and regional teams to build long-term organization capabilities </li></ul> <p>As a Cost Estimator for automotive electronics, you will collaborate with stakeholders in Purchasing, Product Development, Material Cost, and Finance on all part cost matters related to electrical commodities such as displays, clusters, and interface controls. • This role utilizes Cost Estimating resources to support current and new model programs, unit programs and Product Development benchmarking requests. • Able to navigate ambiguous evolving environment and has proficient knowledge / working experience in developing material piece cost estimates</p> <p>What you'll do...</p> <ul> <li>Develop piece cost and tooling estimates for assigned commodities which requires an extensive understanding of manufacturing cost structure and supply base capability </li><li>Support teardowns, benchmark standard methodologies, and identify material cost reduction opportunities </li><li>Actively support strategic commodity initiatives with relevant cost analyses </li><li>Support cost target setting, commercial pricing agreements, and change control processes for forward and current model vehicle programs by delivering accurate estimates including detailed cost gap analysis </li><li>Ensure reasonable, physicals-based, Best-In-Class assumptions for part manufacturing of their respective commodities, and convincingly convey principles to stakeholders & partners </li><li>Demonstrate strong understanding of differences between Activity Based Costing, volume-based costing, and "Should Cost".
