<p>Under the general direction and supervision of the Associate Dean and Department Chair, the Adjunct lab instructor is responsible for instructing students in the microbiology laboratory. Possible teaching assignments include but are not limited to Microbiology and are based on experience and qualifications. This is a part-time temporary position.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <p>The instructor will be responsible for utilizing various teaching strategies maintaining accurate student records using the required LMS grade book, communicating with students, etc.</p> <ul> <li> <p>Provide Instruction in Assigned Subject Areas</p> </li><li> <p>Provide instruction to students according to the objectives of each course assigned. The instructor will utilize a variety of instructional strategies in the lab that include, but are not limited to, lectures, small groups, engaged learning techniques, demonstrations, and student laboratory experiments.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide For Student Evaluation and Record-Keeping</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain accurate student records on attendance, achievement, and progress.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform Other Functions Related to Teaching Assignments</p> </li><li> <p>Provide a safe laboratory work environment that includes the proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide information and data that will assist in the preparation of supply and equipment orders, course schedules, book orders, assessment of student learning, and other necessary reports.</p> </li><li> <p>Prepare laboratory materials and set up lab equipment appropriate to areas of instruction.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain and store equipment when not in use.</p> </li></ul> <p>Promote a Culture of Belonging</p> <p>Support and promote an environment of belonging where all students, faculty members, and college employees feel welcomed, valued, and empowered to contribute. Work schedules (hours/days/work location) are scheduled by Southeast Community College based on the needs of the College. Work hours, shifts, days, and work locations may vary depending on the needs of Southeast Community College and are subject to modification.
