<p>Adjunct Faculty are instructional personnel whose services are contracted on a semester/term by semester/term basis. The workload is limited to two course sections per semester/term, unless three course sections are required to meet the needs of the students and/or College. Please note: course caps may be up to 40 students</p> <p>Adjunct Faculty will be paid $700 per credit hour for this position. Sr. Adjunct Faculty will be paid $750 per credit hour.Instructor: Prepare, and teach all assigned courses while ensuring that course outcomes are met. Provide students with feedback and academic support. Meet all divisional and institutional requirements, such as submission of grades and reporting attendance. </p> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Develop, in collaboration with Division Dean and/or Associate Dean, course learning outcomes and curriculum, syllabi, assessments, and rubrics for Brewing Science AAS degree. </li><li>Teach courses related to the Brewing Science AAS degree. </li><li>Maintain accurate course records and submit related reports as requested. </li><li>Create a safe and inclusive learning environment for students. </li><li>Promote the college programs to the community. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>OVERALL PURPOSE AND RESPONSIBILITY:</p> <p>The primary and most important overall responsibility of all employees is to provide service in a pleasant, helpful, and effective manner to our students and other members of the College community.Education Required:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Fermentation Science, Chemistry, Biology or a related field is required. Master's degree preferred. </li><li>ServSafe Alcohol Certified Proctor preferred, but not required. </li><li>ServSafe Sanitation Certified preferred, but not required. </li></ul> <p>Experience Required:</p> <ul> <li>At least 2 years' relevant experience in the craft brewing industry. </li><li>Teaching experience at the college level, preferably at a two-year institution. </li><li>Experience in the use of instructional technologies. </li></ul> <p>Skills/Abilities /Knowledge /Other Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. </li><li>Use of learning-centered teaching methodologies. </li><li>Evidence of a strong commitment to teach and remain current in the field. </li><li>Experience teaching in both face-to-face and online instruction. Familiarity with Blackboard Ultra is beneficial. </li><li>Familiarity with NJ brewing industry laws and practices beneficial. </li><li>Demonstrated commitment to the community college mission of providing instruction to students of diverse abilities, interests, and cultural backgrounds. </li></ul> <p>INSTITUTIONAL EFFECTIVENESS:</p> <p>Collaborates with department members and/or the Compliance, Assessment and Research team to support planning, assessment, data collection and reporting for continuous improvement of the college.</p> <p>Residency Requirement: Rowan College of Burlington County requires applicants to reside in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, or Delaware in order to be considered for employment as an Adjunct.</p>
