<p>General Description:</p> <p>The Summer Camp Counselor is responsible for the general supervision of participants and implementation of summer camp.</p> <p>Principle Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Available for the entirety of Summer Camp 6/22/26 - 8/14/26, which includes training. </li><li>Organize, lead and plan programs and activities for youth. </li><li>Must be able to instruct children in a variety of activities, including but not limited to sports, art, dance, science and music. </li><li>Enforce rules and maintain a safe environment. </li><li>Create a fun atmosphere. </li><li>Plan and supervise activities. </li><li>Supervises youth in activities ensuring that such activities are safe and fun. </li><li>Enforces department rules and policies for the benefit of all participants. </li><li>Takes attendance each hour daily. </li><li>Performs daily inventory of program supplies inspecting for shortages or damages, and reporting results to camp supervisor for replenishing or repair. </li><li>Always maintains a professional demeanor and attitude to demonstrate the importance of customer service. </li><li>Reports inappropriate behavior and incidents to supervisors. </li><li>Attend scheduled staff meetings and training to learn new techniques, program/policy changes and discuss important issues pertaining to programs. </li><li>Adhere to the employee manual to promote consistency in the delivery of program services. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Conditions and Equipment: Requires some heavy lifting, working outdoors, sneakers and/or safe footwear always required. Staff shirt must be worn on all days at camp.</p> <p>Qualification/Specification:</p> <ul> <li>Must have knowledge and experience in teaching children in activities including but not limited to sports, art, dance, science and music. </li><li>Must be able to give effective directions and supervision of participants. </li><li>Must have the ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions. </li><li>Must demonstrate good decision-making skills. </li><li>Must have a positive personality and the ability to provide leadership and stability for program continuity and success. </li><li>Must be able to demonstrate the ability to work with children and adults in a mature manner.
