Posting Number 20166645S Job Description</p> <p>Under general supervision from food service manager, serves as lead worker, i.e., provides work direction, training and mentoring of lower-level bakers, cooks or other food service personnel in providing production baked goods. Established pattern of good work habits and performance with good interpersonal skills.</p> <ul> <li>Responsible for implementing production sheets. </li><li>Weighs and mixes ingredients for baked good; pans doughs and mixes; bakes shortbreads, pies, puddings, desserts; decorates cakes and rolls; cuts and wraps bread; portions baked goods; packs foodstuffs for storage or delivery to dining areas; orders food supplies; maintains systematized freezer inventory. </li><li>Cleans bakeshop equipment; maintains sanitation in bakeshop area. </li><li>Responsible for filling, checking and initialing of all orders for delivery to dining halls; checking and completing production sheets. </li><li>Performs other duties as required. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of large-scale baking techniques </li><li>Skill in the bakery equipment operation </li><li>Ability to understand a system of procedures </li><li>Ability to add, subtract, multiply & divide whole numbers </li><li>Ability to read & write common vocabulary in sentence structure </li><li>Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. </li><li>Ability to demonstrate dexterity </li><li>4 months experience as Baker 1 </li><li>24 months experience as baker in large-scale baking operation; (or 24 months training &/or experience in operation of bakery equipment baking techniques & associated sanitary standards); or equivalent. </li><li>Successful completion of a test may be required. </li><li>May be exposed to hot ovens. </li><li>An established pattern of good work habits and performance with good interpersonal skills. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of supervision* </li></ul> <p>(*developed after employment)</p> <p>Department Culinary Services Pay Rate</p> <p>Pay Range |06|: $21.43 - $24.18</p> <p>Employees also enjoy a generous benefits package such as one meal per work shift, paid holidays, sick time, personal time, a tuition waiver up to 100% for self and dependents, a comprehensive insurance package (including but not limited to prescription, vision, dental, and life insurance), an excellent retirement plan with up to a 14% company contribution, a 12-week parental leave program, and more.
