Our hospitals, care sites and clinicians are recognized for clinical and operational excellence.</p> <p>Mercy Health is excited to announce our new Childcare Facility in Lima, Ohio</p> <p>Teachers needed on two shifts:</p> <p>1st Shift 5:40am-145 pm</p> <p>2nd Shift 130pm - 830 pm.</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>Primary Function/General Purpose of Position</p> <p>The Teacher I plans and implements the curriculum, supervision and management of the program and the classroom. This position demonstrates the knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the life span and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the children's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each child's requirement relative to his or her age, specific needs and to provide care needed as described in the departmental policies and procedures</p> <p>Essential Job Functions</p> <ul> <li>Plans and implements educational activities for the assigned classroom </li><li>Supervises play activities, meals, and rest time </li><li>Records children's daily activities and maintains daily student records </li><li>Maintains open communication with parents </li><li>Implements positive, supportive methods of behavior management </li><li>Performs functions to safeguard children's wellness and safety along with reporting accidents and accurately reporting details on an incident report. </li><li>Obtains certification and administers medication and documents same </li><li>Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the children served </li><li>Maintains classroom bulletin boards and parent information areas </li><li>Conducts parent teacher conferences. Maintains children's portfolios </li><li>Prepares and arranges educational materials. </li><li>Reports accidents and completes incident reports. </li><li>Works with families of children with special needs related to child development or health and monitors the care plan with the teachers and the families. Reports/Escalates safety issues and concerns according to departmental guidelines, reports maintenance needs and follows up until resolution. </li><li>Maintains classroom bulletin boards and parent information areas. </li><li>Supervises Fire Drills. Conducts regular spot-checks to insure we are in compliance with the health and safety regulations. </li><li>Assists direct reports with the coordination of special events and quarterly events related to the areas of oversight. </li></ul> <p>This document is not an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, skills, duties, requirements, or working conditions associated with the job.
