<p>Part Time Instructor Literacy</p> <p>Job Title: Part Time Instructor Literacy*</p> <p>FLSA Status: Exempt - Professional</p> <p>Summary</p> <p>Noncredit ESL or GED instructors to deliver instruction within our grant funded, fee based, or contracted classes. Instructors report to the Assistant Director of Literacy and Job Training and/or the Director of ESL, Literacy and Student Success</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Assists in formulating instructional program and aids in curriculum development and improvement </li><li>Maintains a portfolio of work on each student </li><li>Maintains clear records on programs, both for students and program review </li><li>Provides Instruction in accordance with LCCC standards and grant/contract specifications where appropriate </li><li>Plans teaching strategies and activities that are appropriate for adult learners </li><li>Provides linkage for students to progress from one educational program to another </li><li>Aids in meeting special needs of students </li><li>Counsels and advises students on an as-needed basis </li><li>Conducts standardized testing (post) on each student </li><li>Motivates and encourages students </li><li>Keeps current on adult education by attending professional development and meetings </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned by the director </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Bachelor's degree in Education or appropriate field. Experience working people in an educational setting.</p> <p>Physical Demands</p> <p>While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee may regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
