<p>Part Time Campus Security Officer | Evenings</p> <p>Location: Lakewood, CO</p> <p>Target Salary: $20 - $22/hour</p> <p>Application Deadline: August 1, 2025</p> <p>Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design is currently seeking a reliable, observant, and proactive part-time evening security guard to support campus safety and security during the evening hours (Typical shifts between 6:00pm and 11:00pm, 20-29 hours per week, exact hours to be determined). This position is responsible for patrolling college grounds, monitoring activity, assisting students and staff, and responding to incidents to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for the campus community.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Patrol campus buildings, parking lots, and surrounding areas on foot or by vehicle </li><li>Monitor security systems, including surveillance cameras and alarms </li><li>Provide assistance to students, faculty, staff, and visitors, including walking escorts upon request </li><li>Lock and unlock campus buildings and rooms in accordance with evening schedules </li><li>Respond promptly to alarms, disturbances, and reported incidents </li><li>Write accurate and timely incident reports and daily activity logs </li><li>Enforce campus rules and regulations and report violations appropriately </li><li>Assist in emergency response efforts, including fire alarms, medical emergencies, or evacuations </li><li>Communicate effectively with dispatch, other guards, and local law enforcement as needed </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent required </li><li>Prior security, military, law enforcement, or customer service experience preferred </li><li>Valid driver's license and clean driving record (if patrol duties include driving) </li><li>Ability to pass a background check </li><li>Good judgment, attention to detail, and ability to remain calm under pressure </li><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills </li><li>Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision </li><li>Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods and work outdoors in varying weather </li><li>conditions </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions and Physical Demands:</p> <ul> <li>Must be able to adapt to extreme temperature changes while working outdoors. </li><li>May involve exposure to difficult or emergency situations. </li><li>The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or listen. The position often involves regular standing, walking, sitting, and utilizing hands for tasks such as handling or feeling objects. </li></ul> <p>This job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employees assigned to this classification.
