<p>The City of Chesapeake is seeking a detail-oriented, self-motivated Office Coordinator to provide complex administrative support to the City Clerk and leadership members of the City Clerk's Office.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Assists with daily operations of the City Clerk's Office. </li><li>Maintains supply and equipment inventory. </li><li>Performs routine office tasks such as data entry, filing, scanning, and photocopying. </li><li>Interacts with the public by telephone or in person; provides information, directs individuals to appropriate personnel, or takes and relays messages. </li><li>Processes incoming and outgoing mail. </li><li>Processes requisitions and purchase orders. </li><li>Researches and processes accounts payable and/or accounts receivable. </li><li>Processes the billing of legal advertising for City Council meetings. </li><li>Prepares monthly P-card report. </li><li>Assists in the monitoring of the departmental budget. </li><li>Serves as a Passport Acceptance Agent, ensuring compliance with Department of State requirements. </li><li>Schedules passport appointments. </li><li>Enters passport fees into the Mainframe data system. </li><li>Completes citizen speaker cards for City Council meetings. </li><li>Prepares Oath of Office certificates. </li><li>Performs other related duties, as assigned. </li></ul> <p>The City of Chesapeake offers an exceptional range of benefits. Please browse our Benefits Brochure, for a full list of benefits and employee perks</p> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <p>VOCATIONAL/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT: Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to an associate's degree in word processing, secretarial skills, or a closely related field.</p> <p>EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT: In addition to satisfying the vocational/education standards, this class requires a minimum of two years of full-time equivalent experience in administrative support.</p> <p>SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p>
