Position Overview The Pharmacy Technician III assists with operational and distribution responsibilities related to pharmacy functions, including the use of Orlando Health software and hardware systems. Understands hospital mission, personnel policies, philosophy, goals, customer service, and objectives of the Pharmacy and Orlando Health. Familiar with general duties and processes of the Pharmacy department. Identifies and utilizes resources and departments for customer service and patient care based on need and availability. Operates equipment required for pharmacy procedures in compliance with safety regulations and policies. Performs basic Pharmacy Technician procedures required by the assigned area consistent with scientific principles and policy. Performs basic buyer procedures, including drug procurement, consistent with departmental principles and Orlando Health policies. Accurately assists the Pharmacist in all duties related to medication distribution, including aseptic techniques for admixture of medications (e.g., chemotherapy) and tasks associated with automated dispensing cabinets. Maintains USP 797 standards and other regulatory documentation. Qualifications Education & Training High school diploma or equivalent. Licensure/Certification Current Pharmacy Technician registration with the Florida State Board of Pharmacy. Current Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification from a nationally recognized program (e.g., PTCB or ICPT). Maintenance of current certification is required.
