<p>Provide children birth to twelve (12) years of age with excellent child care and appropriate guided play-based learning experiences. Work with other team members, and the Director to provide comprehensive care while incorporating curriculum into planned play with a moderate level of independence.</p> <p>In addition to complying with the child care licensing rules, applicants must be able to write weekly lesson plans, work with children on goals, maintain both child portfolios, and progress documentation.</p> <p>Ensure children are making progress toward school readiness by doing formal observations, writing developmentally appropriate lesson plans, and scaffolding that learning to ensure milestones are met.</p> <p>Applicant will be able to manage the routine of the children's needs and standards of Accreditation. Work in the classroom directly supervising the children while following the curriculum, accreditation standards, licensing regulations, writing lesson plans, doing observations, planning, and implementing Parent Teacher Conferences, and paperwork associated with teaching young children.</p> <p>Applicant must be able to manage a classroom successfully and conduct parent teacher meetings and work closely with the families to support children's learning. Applicant must be able to work with varied populations and communicate with parents daily.</p> <p>Each teacher is expected to monitor the classroom, attend monthly trainings, and classes that correlate with accreditation and licensing standards.</p> <p>Teachers are responsible for paperwork associated with progressing children on individual goals.</p> <p>Lead teachers are responsible to establish relationships with their teams which are often new staff members and students. Teachers must mentor other staff by modeling and explain techniques that are developmentally appropriate and align with the accreditation and state standards. The applicant will need to be the Lead of their classroom and do assigned paperwork associated with this.</p> <p>Perform as the Director Designee in the absence of Director, Assistant, or Admin Assistant.</p> <p>Keep a clean classroom and serving food is necessary.</p> <p>Essential Responsibilities and Duties Essential Responsibilities and Duties Continued Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Two (2) years direct, paid, full-time work experience as a teacher in an early education classroom with 60 completed college credit hours containing at least 12 college credit hours of early education development courses (ECD, FHS, FHD, FCS). </li></ul> <p>A current CDA will be counted at 9 credit hours, and loose coursework from the Children's Service Society, URPD/CCPDI will be considered. Level 1 will count as 3 collegial level hours, and level 2 will be 6 credits.</p> <p>Current enrollment in collegial level coursework in early education may be counted toward the necessary 12 credit hours.</p> <p>OR</p> <ul> <li>Four (4) years direct, paid, full-time work experience as a teacher in an early education classroom </li></ul> <p>Part time experience may be considered on a prorated basis.</p> <p>Must be at least 18 years old at the time of starting the position.</p> <p>Must pass a background check from the Bureau of Child Care Licensing.</p> <p>Must pass a basic physical and a TB Screening.</p> <p>Must be able to bend, lift and interact with children at their level.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>Experience working with large groups of young children including infants and toddlers for 5 plus years.</p> <p>Bachelor's degree with coursework in Child Development or related field.</p> <p>Experience as a Lead Teacher in an accredited early childhood program.</p> <p>Knowledge, Skills & Abilities</p> <p>Knowledge:</p> <ul> <li>Qualified applicants will need to understand the importance of early childhood learning, understand child development, appropriate milestones, health and safety regulations of Bureau of Child Care Licensing, and basic managerial functions. </li></ul> <p>Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Willing and capable of learning new skills. </li><li>Ability to maintain demeanor during times of high-level stress. </li><li>Ability to work with small children in small and large group settings. </li><li>Relate and communicate with others. </li><li>Plan based on observation. </li><li>Use technology to document work. </li><li>Be professional and dependable. </li><li>Comply with directions of Director and Assistant Director. </li><li>Work independently and take initiative, </li><li>Resolve conflicts professionally, </li><li>Exhibit social maturity, physical endurance, and emotional stability required to take charge of a group of young children. </li><li>Ability to lift boxes, children, and moving furniture up to 40 lbs. is required. </li><li>Regular exposure to communicable illnesses, and bodily fluids will occur. </li><li>Must read and write in English. </li><li>Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of people with a variety of abilities and backgrounds, to maintain good working relationships across the College. </li><li>Ability to work with all groups from a variety of academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, and with community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities. </li></ul> <p>Non-Essential Responsibilities and Duties</p> <ul> <li>Working in the classroom directly supervising the children while following the curriculum, accreditation standards, and licensing regulations, including acting as the Director Designee upon occasion. </li><li>Writing lesson plans, doing observations, Parent Teacher Conferences/ Orientations, and paperwork associated with teaching young children. </li><li>Cleaning and food service duties. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Special Instructions</p> <p>Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. US Citizenship is preferred, but non-citizens may be considered if they possess valid employment authorization.</p> <p>All employees are required to maintain a permanent residence within the State of Utah as a condition of employment.
