Open to discussing longer hours.</p> <p>Number of positions: 1 Department: 947 - Office of Decision Support and Data Integrity Contact Name: Trina Das Contact Phone/Extension: 610-519 7775</p> <p>Position Summary Information</p> <p>Job Description Summary:</p> <p>The Office of Decision Support and Data Integrity (ODSDI) is inviting applications from currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate students for the Data Literacy Assistant position on the team. ODSDI provides data reporting and analytics support to campus leaders for strategic planning and decision-making by engaging with business units and the colleges to improve data collection, documentation, and related processes.</p> <p>The Data Literacy Assistant will support the ODSDI team by helping to organize, document, and maintain data definitions and a comprehensive data dictionary. This role will assist in ensuring accurate, consistent, and accessible data across the institution, supporting reporting, compliance, and data-driven decision-making.</p> <p>The ideal candidate will have basic data skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Word), and strong attention to detail. The student will gain hands-on experience with institutional data, learn how data informs decision-making, and contribute to projects that support leadership, academic departments, and strategic planning.</p> <p>Tasks will include documenting data sources and definitions for dashboards and reports and assisting with data validation and standardization. This role provides a great opportunity for students interested in institutional research, data analytics, or data-driven decision support.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Compile and maintain a comprehensive data dictionary for institutional datasets </li><li>Document processes, data definitions, formats, and sources, in Microsoft Excel or Word </li><li>Review and update existing data documentation for accuracy and consistency </li><li>Support the standardization of data across institutional reporting systems </li><li>Assist with basic data validation, cleaning, and analysis tasks </li><li>Collaborate with ODSDI staff to gather data-related information from various departments </li><li>Ensure all documentation follows internal formatting and quality standards </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Current student enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at the University </li><li>Basic understanding of data concepts (fields, tables, data types, datasets) </li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint </li><li>Strong attention to detail and organizational skills </li><li>Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information </li><li>Ability to work independently and manage time effectively </li><li>Good written and verbal communication skills </li><li>Must be available to work in-person 15-20 hours per week, Monday through Thursday, during regular business hours </li></ul> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>Learning Opportunities:</p> <ul> <li>Exposure to institutional data management and reporting practices </li><li>Experience contributing to decision support and strategic planning initiatives </li><li>Hands-on practice in data documentation, standardization, and quality assurance </li><li>Mentorship from professionals in higher education analytics and data governance </li><li>Opportunity to develop technical and professional communication skills </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands Summary: Wage Rate: 10</p> <p>Posting Detail Information</p> <p>Closing Date (11:59pm ET): Open Until Filled No</p>
