<p>Pipefitter IV</p> <p>Comfort and Process Solutions (CPS), a Modigent Company</p> <p>Job Overview</p> <p>This position is equivalent to a Journeyman Pipefitter in the trades and requires 5+ years of experience with mastery-level knowledge of piping systems and wet-side HVAC applications in commercial and industrial environments. A Pipefitter IV works independently with minimal supervision, performing skilled installation, repair, replacement, and startup tasks for heating/cooling systems, including chillers, boilers, hydronic piping, and related equipment. This role supports CPS's commitment to 24/7 reliability, exceptional quality, and customer satisfaction for businesses, schools, hospitals, government facilities, and industrial clients across Kentucky.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of wet-side commercial and industrial HVAC applications, system design, and best practices for optimal performance and energy efficiency. </li><li>Lay out, assemble, install, and maintain HVAC piping systems, including hydronic, chilled water, hot water, steam, and process piping. </li><li>Repair and replace piping systems, pipe supports, valves, pumps, and equipment for heating, cooling, and process applications in commercial and industrial settings. </li><li>Perform equipment startups, functional check-outs, system testing, and commissioning to verify proper operation and integration. </li><li>Document all work accurately by completing required paperwork, service reports, as-built documentation, and backup records for compliance and client handover. </li><li>Uphold the highest standards of safety at all times, following OSHA regulations, company policies, and site-specific requirements. </li><li>Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and P&IDs to execute precise layouts and installations. </li><li>Collaborate effectively with project teams, supervisors, and clients to ensure timely, high-quality deliverables. </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications & Competencies</p> <ul> <li>5+ years of progressive experience in commercial/industrial pipefitting, with strong emphasis on wet-side HVAC systems (e.g., chillers, boilers, hydronic piping). </li><li>Current journeyman pipefitter license (or ability to obtain promptly); relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA 10/30, welding qualifications) preferred. </li><li>Proven expertise in blueprint reading, layout, pipe fabrication, threading, welding, grooving, and system troubleshooting. </li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills for clear documentation, team coordination, and client interaction. </li><li>Strong multitasking abilities with excellent follow-through on internal and external commitments. </li><li>Physically capable of working in demanding environments: lift up to 50 pounds, frequent bending/lifting, standing/walking on uneven terrain or in confined spaces, and safely climbing ladders/scaffolding. </li><li>Self-motivated, reliable, punctual, and professional in appearance and conduct. </li><li>Experience with government, institutional, or mission-critical facilities is a plus. </li></ul> <p>Why Join Comfort and Process Solutions (CPS)?</p> <p>As part of Modigent-a national innovator in mechanical, plumbing, infrastructure, and energy solutions-CPS offers a dynamic, supportive environment where your expertise in commercial/industrial HVAC piping directly impacts client reliability and system performance.
