<p>The Instrument and Electrical (I & E) Technician is responsible for safely maintaining, repairing, and replacing the physical equipment at AMVAC's Axis, AL manufacturing plant. The I&E Technician repairs, or if necessary, replaces the plant equipment in order for the plant to operate on a continuous basis (7x24). We understand that a successful business is built on the strength of its people which is why we are dedicated to nurturing talent, fueling success and cultivating potential.</p> <p>JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <p>Maintain, repair and/or replace the equipment required to operate a chemical manufacturing plant safely and efficiently 24 hours a day / 7 days a week meeting all safety, environmental and regulatory standards.</p> <p>Instrumentation</p> <ul> <li>Understand and provide process instrumentation preventive maintenance procedures </li><li>Fabrication and installation of instrument tubing </li><li>Troubleshooting and calibration of Ph and conductivity transmitters </li><li>Troubleshoot and repair process valves and actuators </li><li>Read blueprints and use loop sheets to repair instrument loops </li><li>Utilize DCS (Honeywell) control systems </li></ul> <p>Electrical</p> <ul> <li>Troubleshoot and the repair of electrical control circuits </li><li>Maintain, repair or replace electric motors and motor starters </li><li>Read and work from blueprints, schematics, P&ID's, etc... </li><li>Determine motor condition by the use of a megger </li><li>Install conduit and pull wire for electrical circuits safely </li><li>Use electrical hand tools, power tools and testers to install or repair electrical equipment </li><li>Work with production to troubleshoot problems and find solutions </li></ul> <p>General</p> <ul> <li>Communicate with plant personnel; report issues promptly and accurately </li><li>Comply with all regulatory safety and all regulatory environmental requirements </li><li>Insure compliance with all company policies, practices and lawful directives </li><li>Other duties as required </li></ul> <p>SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>5+ years' work experience as I&E, maintenance electrician or instrument technician </li><li>Relevant experience in a chemical plant or manufacturing environment required </li><li>Honeywell, AB and E&H instrument experience a plus </li><li>Strong communication skills, both written and verbal </li><li>Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) </li><li>Proficient at initial set up, troubleshooting and repairing - Flow indicating equipment; Pressure transmitters; Ph and Conductivity transmitters </li><li>Proficient reading, understanding and working with instrument Loop Drawings and establishing the specifications for instruments and electrical equipment </li><li>Must be prompt, dependable and have a good attendance record </li><li>May be required to work nights and/or weekends as job duties demand </li><li>Participate in the Safety blood draw program if applicable </li><li>Pass post-offer drug test, background check and other appropriate tests as required </li></ul> <p>Education Requirements</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or equivalent required </li><li>Vocational or technical degree preferred </li><li>AIDT Training strongly preferred </li></ul> <p>AMVAC's Employees are offered exceptional BENEFITS including:</p> <ul> <li>Health insurance including Medical, Dental, Vision </li><li>Life; AD&D Insurance </li><li>Health Savings Account (HSA) & Flexible Spending Account (FSA) options </li><li>401(k) Retirement Savings Plan with employer match </li><li>Employee Stock Purchasing Plan (ESPP) </li><li>Additional benefits include Vacation, Sick, Holiday time off as well as a Wellness program </li></ul> <p>We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity in our company.
