<p>General Summary</p> <p>Velocity is seeking an organized and detail-oriented HR Coordinator to support day-to-day Human Resources operations, with a focus on benefits coordination and employee support. The ideal candidate will have strong administrative skills, an interest in learning HR processes, and the ability to handle confidential information professionally. This role will support HR initiatives including employee benefits, onboarding, compliance tracking, and HR documentation.</p> <p>This is a hybrid opportunity where you can work 1 to 2 days remotely. Must be able to work onsite at our Holland, OH office location.</p> <p>Principle Duties and Responsibilities</p> <p>Benefits Coordination</p> <ul> <li>Assist with the administration of employee benefits programs (health, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement plans). </li><li>Support the new hire benefits orientation process and help employees understand enrollment procedures. </li><li>Enter and update benefits information in HR systems; process changes and terminations accurately. </li><li>Liaise with benefits providers on basic inquiries and help employees with general claims or coverage questions. </li></ul> <p>Employee Support & Communication</p> <ul> <li>Respond to employee questions related to benefits, policies, and HR procedures with professionalism and clarity. </li><li>Help maintain and distribute up-to-date HR and benefits documents. </li><li>Support communication efforts for open enrollment, benefit changes, and wellness initiatives. </li></ul> <p>HR Operations & Compliance Support</p> <ul> <li>Assist with compliance tasks including tracking deadlines related to COBRA, FMLA, and ACA reporting. </li><li>Help prepare required documentation for audits and benefits reporting. </li><li>Ensure confidentiality and accuracy of employee files and records. </li></ul> <p>HR Data Entry & Reporting</p> <ul> <li>Maintain and audit employee data in HRIS and benefits platforms (e.g., Paycor). </li><li>Support HR and payroll teams by verifying data for benefits deductions and resolving discrepancies. </li><li>Run basic reports and support data collection for HR metrics as needed. </li></ul> <p>Open Enrollment Support</p> <ul> <li>Coordinate logistics for annual open enrollment including scheduling, materials preparation, and employee reminders. </li><li>Assist with updating benefits guides and ensuring documents are accessible to staff. </li><li>Help facilitate employee meetings and Q&A sessions during enrollment periods. </li></ul> <p>Skills, Qualifications and Education</p> <ul> <li>Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred. </li><li>Experience: 2-3 years of experience in an HR, administrative, or coordination role (benefits experience is a plus). </li><li>Strong organizational and administrative skills with attention to detail. </li><li>Basic understanding of employee benefits or willingness to learn. </li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with HRIS or benefits platforms preferred. </li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills. </li><li>Ability to manage sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism. </li><li>Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. </li></ul> <p>Why you'll love working at Velocity</p> <p>We are an energetic bunch - eager to succeed and have lots of company pride.
