Our work is mission-critical, supporting the U.S. Navy and strengthening national security.</p> <p>We are seeking Experienced Fluids Engineers to join our Hull Planning Yard (HPY) Engineeringorganization.</p> <p>Department 495 is a multi-discipline organization responsible for supporting the current submarine fleet, which consists of delivered OHIO SSBN/SSGN, SEAWOLF, and VIRGINIA Class hulls. We provide operational availability and capability to the fleet through maintenance and enhancement activities. These activities include managing potential design changes to commissioned ships, developing documentation for class/ship modernization, and providing technical direction in support of emergent problems.</p> <p>This role is ideal for engineers who want to own technical decisions, mentor others, and see their work directly impact mission-critical systems in service today.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Providing technical oversight and review of engineering work to ensure accuracy, compliance, and quality </li><li>Mentoring and guiding junior engineers, fostering professional growth and knowledge transfer </li><li>Collaborating across disciplines and departments, ensuring alignment between design, analysis, and program requirements </li><li>Engaging and leveraging technical experts when needed to resolve complex issues </li><li>Leading and contributing to critical projects, taking ownership of deliverables, and ensuring timely execution </li><li>Driving continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to improve methodologies and processes </li><li>Communicating effectively with stakeholders at all levels, translating technical concepts into clear actionable information </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Capable of working independently while contributing to team objectives </li><li>Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment </li><li>Highly self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement </li></ul> <p>Why Join Us</p> <ul> <li>We offer a workplace where integrity, innovation, and excellence drive everything we do </li><li>Competitive Pay & Benefits Comprehensive healthcare, retirement plans, and tuition assistance </li><li>Career Growth Training, mentorship, and opportunities to advance within the company </li><li>Stability & Expansion Were growing, adding thousands of new jobs across our facilities </li><li>Inclusive Culture Employee Resource Groups and community engagement </li><li>Impactful Work Every role contributes directly to national defense and the U.S. Navys mission </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Required</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor of Science degree in Fluid Mechanics, Mechanical, Aeronautical, Aerospace, or Marine Engineering </li><li>5+ years of post-graduate engineering experience performing requirements traceability, material specifications, and design and analysis of piping/fluid and HVAC systems </li><li>Experience conducting and reviewing pressure-drop calculations </li><li>Experience evaluating pipe sizing and material selection </li><li>Experience working with compressible and incompressible fluid systems </li><li>Experience reviewing and approving work completed by junior engineers </li><li>Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearancethrough the DoD </li></ul> <p>Preferred</p> <ul> <li>Master of Science degree in Fluid Mechanics, Mechanical, Aeronautical, Aerospace, or Marine Engineering </li><li>Experience with Simcenter Flomaster and proficiency with Microsoft Excel </li><li>Experience reviewing design disclosures with Siemens Teamcenter </li><li>Experience working with freshwater and seawater systems </li></ul>
