As an integral member of the Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP)</p> <p>team, the Senior Plumbing Designer will have the ability to design a broad range of</p> <p>plumbing systems, including specialized plumbing systems, from conceptual design through</p> <p>construction documents. Have the opportunity to QA/QC documents, and mentor other</p> <p>plumbing Designers, Engineers, and Interns.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Work in conjunction with the design team from conceptual design through </li></ul> <p>construction documents on the design of various types of plumbing systems.</p> <p>Specific to the design of these plumbing systems the ideal candidate must be</p> <p>able to design, size, select, schedule, and specify plumbing system components</p> <p>and equipment.</p> <ul> <li>Develop conceptual design options, work through design concepts with design </li></ul> <p>team and client to produce final construction documents.</p> <ul> <li>Produce plumbing design documents from schematic design through </li></ul> <p>construction documents using Revit. Including calculations and specifications.</p> <ul> <li>Organize project requirements with minimal direction. </li><li>Knowledge of codes and regulatory requirements applicable to plumbing design. </li><li>Manage deadlines and prioritize assignments in an efficient and effective </li></ul> <p>manner.</p> <ul> <li>Communicate effectively with clients, project managers, and other team </li></ul> <p>members.</p> <ul> <li>Mentor plumbing designers, engineers, and interns in plumbing design, and </li></ul> <p>foster a collaborative environment.</p> <ul> <li>Ensure compliance with company design standards and requirements. </li><li>Review shop drawing submittals, RFI's. and provide responses. </li><li>Perform site observations to ensure plumbing systems meet design intent </li></ul> <p>Capabilities and Credentials</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrate understanding of client, project, and team requirements. </li><li>Demonstrate complete understanding of design software and how to apply it to </li></ul> <p>company procedures.</p> <ul> <li>Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD. </li><li>Excellent organizational and prioritizing skills. </li><li>Excellent writing skills. </li><li>Excellent problem-solving skills. </li><li>Keen attention to details. </li><li>Able to work as a member of a team. </li><li>Able to work efficiently in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment. </li></ul> <p>Education and Experience</p> <p>Degree in Drafting/Design from an accredited college or technical school</p> <p>Minimum 10 years of relevant experience designing plumbing systems is required.</p> <p>Certified Plumbing Design (CPD) credential is preferred.</p> <p>This description is not a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that may be required</p> <p>of the employee and other duties, responsibilities and activities may be assigned or may be changed at</p> <p>any time with or without notice.</p> <p>Stantec is a place where the best and brightest come to build on each other's talents,</p> <p>do exciting work, and make an impact on the world around us.
