With a strong global presence, including a significant footprint in the United States, Heraeus employs approximately 16,400 people across 40 countries, all dedicated to shaping the future of technology and industry.</p> <p>Position Summary</p> <p>As a Chemical Operator, you will be responsible for producing products according to instruction provided to meet customer specifications.</p> <p>Essential Duties & Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Measure, weigh, and mix chemical ingredients as per procedures. </li><li>Operate and control equipment associated with chemical purifications or reactions taking place during the production process and adjust controls to regulate temperature, pressure, or flow of liquids or gasses at times of prescribed reactions as directed. </li><li>Make necessary adjustments on equipment units affecting speeds of chemical reactions, quality, or yields as directed. </li><li>Read and follow batch procedures, work instructions, and safety data sheets (SDS). </li><li>Record operational data and test results, draw product samples for analysis. </li><li>Utilize systems like SAAP for transactions and retrieving analytical results. </li><li>Identify and escalate issues, providing updates to supervisors as needed. </li><li>Follow safety protocols, including proper use of PPE, to prevent overflow and other hazards such as fires, explosions, and/or spills. </li><li>Inspect equipment for leaks or malfunctions, shutting down as necessary. </li><li>Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, adhering to 5S principles to avoid contamination. </li></ul> <p>Education, Experience & Skills Requirements</p> <ul> <li>A high school diploma or GED is required. Up to five years of experience in a chemical manufacturing or blending, mixing manufacturing environment is preferred. </li><li>Reading and math with the ability to conduct measurements and conversions of measurements as well as calculate figures and amounts such as percentages and ratios is required. Basic chemistry knowledge is preferred. </li><li>Must be a self-starter with high attention to detail. </li><li>Organizational skills, teamwork skills, and the ability to multi-task are required. </li><li>Knowledge of equipment such as pumps, ovens, stirrers, dryers, and tools including their uses, repair, and maintenance are preferred. </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <p>While performing this position, one is regularly performing physical activities that require considerable use of arms, hands, legs, and moving of whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials. Must be able to reach with hands and arms and talk and hear. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Must be medically cleared to wear a respirator and pass the associated FIT test.</p> <p>Curious?
