<p>Baton Rouge Community College (BRCC)</p> <p>Baton Rouge, Louisiana</p> <p>Promoting Student Growth, Developing Employment Skills, and Encouraging Workplace Readiness</p> <p>The Job Coach for the Program for Successful Employment (PSE) and B.E.A.R.S program provides direct, on-site support to students with cognitive and developmental disabilities in internship and employment settings. This position focuses on reinforcing job tasks, workplace behaviors, and skill development to promote student success. The Job Coach implements support strategies under the direction of the Transition Specialist and does not hold primary responsibility for coordination of placements or program planning.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <p>40%</p> <ul> <li>Provide job coaching and on-site support to students during internships and employment experiences, including modeling workplace behaviors, reinforcing job expectations, and supporting skill development. </li></ul> <p>20%</p> <ul> <li>Assist students in maintaining appropriate workplace behaviors, communication, and professionalism </li></ul> <p>15%</p> <ul> <li>Support instructional activities and workforce training in classroom, campus, and community-based environments as directed. </li></ul> <p>10%</p> <ul> <li>Document student performance, progress, challenges and communicate updates to the Transition Specialist. </li></ul> <p>10%</p> <ul> <li>Assist with implementation of work-based learning activities and support student engagement in assigned job sites. </li></ul> <p>5%</p> <ul> <li>Other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Education</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent required </li><li>Rehabilitation Counseling, Special Education, Vocational Rehabilitation, Psychology, Workforce Development, Education, Communication Studies, Public Relations, Business Administration, or a closely related field focused on job coaching or transition services. </li></ul> <p>Experience</p> <ul> <li>A minimum of two (1) years of experience providing job coaching, transition services, instructional support, or vocational training to individuals with cognitive or developmental disabilities. </li><li>Experience supporting students or adults in workplace readiness, internships, or community-based employment settings. </li><li>Experience providing direct instruction, coaching, or skills training in educational, workforce, or rehabilitation environments. </li><li>Experience collaborating with employers, educators, families, or community agencies. </li></ul> <p>Experience Substitution</p> <ul> <li>A combination of relevant education, professional training, and directly related experience may be substituted for the required education and experience, provided the applicant demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the essential functions Administration, Postsecondary Transition, Workforce Development, Communications, or Business Management, emphasizing community engagement, job placement, and transition planning for individuals with disabilities. </li></ul> <p>Certifications/License Required (Any of the following):</p> <ul> <li>Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) </li><li>Certified Employment Support Professional (CESP) </li><li>Association of Community Rehabilitation Educators (ACRE) Certification </li><li>Work Incentives Practitioner (WIP) or benefits counseling training </li><li>Special Education or Career/Technical Education (CTE) teaching certification </li><li>Professional certification in Workforce Development or Adult Education </li></ul> <p>Preferred Experience</p> <ul> <li>Three (2) or more years of experience in job coaching, transition services, or inclusive employment programs. </li><li>Experience working in postsecondary education, community colleges, or workforce development accommodations. </li><li>Experience using student tracking or case management systems. </li><li>Ability to assist with community outreach, employer engagement, and recruitment activities. </li><li>Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. </li><li>Basic understanding of workplace expectations and employability skills </li><li>Ability
