<p>The VCU Department of Psychiatry is seeking to hire a Clinical Research Assistant for its Child and Adolescent Division.</p> <p>Position Responsibilities:</p> <p>The Child and Adolescent Division of the Department of Psychiatry conducts research studies to help inform and treat child and adolescent mental health conditions. The Clinical Research Assistant is responsible for working on research studies in a compliant and efficient manner. Under the supervision of the project manager and clinical research coordinator, the incumbent will collaborate with all members of the research teams to ensure all federal, state, university, and protocol requirements are followed, institutional research objectives are met, and ethical obligations are kept.</p> <p>Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Performs data collection and entry in compliance with HIPAA, GCP's, HAC, FDA and sponsor required guidelines </li><li>Conduct all assigned activities in compliance with national, local, & institutional guidelines, according to all HIPAA, GCP, and other applicable requirements </li><li>Completes new study activation requirements, screens/enrolls participants, runs participant study visits, regulatory and compliance requirements, maintains appropriate study documentation/records, and manages study data </li><li>Conducts clinical research activities as authorized by the Principal Investigator's documented Delegation of Authority and Training Logs </li><li>Maintains current CITI credentials for Human Subjects Protections, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), Clinical Research Coordinator, plus additional sponsor GCP certifications as required </li><li>Understands and adheres to IRB requirements, Human Subjects protection regulations, and all aspects of IRB approved protocols </li><li>Performs all other research duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of clinical research management to include regulatory, human subjects' protection, study conduct, and data management requirements. </li><li>Knowledge of FDA regulations, ethical research issues and research protocols and guidelines </li><li>Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, excellent interpersonal/organizational skills; </li><li>Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and SPSS or comparable programs; </li><li>Self-motivated, able to work independently, familiar with research regulations; </li><li>Ability to follow complex regulations, policies, and requirements for each study assigned. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from various backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU </li><li>Experience with collection of bio specimens from human research participants. </li><li>Experience reviewing medical records. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in related field. </li><li>Work experience in an academic medical center/university; </li><li>Familiarity with EPIC </li><li>Experience working with industry sponsored studies </li></ul> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>This is a restricted position with no set end date and continued employment is dependent upon project need, availability of funding, and performance.</p> <p>Position will remain open until filled.</p> <p>Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) School of Medicine is a premier academic medical center located in the heart of Richmond.
