Then, consider applying for Child Advocate Attorney in the Chatham County Child Advocate Office.</p> <p>May be hired as Child Advocate Attorney I-III, based on Experience Level. Salary commensurate with Qualifications and Experience Level.</p> <p>Under the direct supervision of the Director of Indigent Defense, you </p> <ul> <li>Perform professional legal work involved in representing the legal rights and best interests of abused and neglected children in dependency matters before the Chatham County Juvenile Court.  </li><li>Investigate abuse allegations and litigate dependency cases before the Juvenile Court.  </li><li>Provide legal representation, including case investigation, legal research, evaluation, and strategic preparation for dependency court proceedings.  </li><li>Represent clients at all stages of their cases.  </li><li>Provide ongoing case monitoring and advocacy by collaborating with multidisciplinary stakeholders to ensure that clients' well-being needs are met, and that permanent homes and caretakers are identified.  </li><li>Regularly visit child clients and communicate with Department of Family and Children Services case managers, other attorneys, foster parents, educators, and medical and mental health professionals.  </li><li>May supervise staff.  </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned. </li><li>Juris Doctorate Degree from an accredited law school. </li><li>Must be licensed to practice law in the State of Georgia. </li><li>Must be a Member in Good Standing of the State Bar of Georgia.  </li><li>Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. </li></ul>
