<p>The Vice President Global Sales and Customer Engagement develops, implements, and leads the company's strategic sales and customer service initiatives ensuring a multi-channel (dealer, distributor, direct to consumer) approach to market/sales growth, sales excellence, and customer relationship management while increasing brand equity and profitability in domestic and international markets. This position will lead and manage all activities associated with the company's sales and sales planning and sales operations processes to ensure all goals are met or exceeded.</p> <p>The Vice President Global Sales and Customer Engagement is responsible for working closely with and ensuring coordination cross functionally between Marketing, Product Management, Global Manufacturing/Operations, Supply Chain, Finance & Accounting, and Legal regarding all Sales and Customer Engagement-related matters.</p> <p>This position has leadership and employee development oversight for all areas of Global Sales and Customer Service including Domestic and International Sales, Custom Shop and National Accounts, Sales Operations, Direct to Consumer, Channel Programs, Sales Forecasting and Analysis.</p> <p>Specific Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Sets sales strategy and leads revenue generation initiatives for the company in order to meet or exceed growth targets for revenue and profit. </li><li>Directly contributes to sustained company growth and profits by strategically positioning Martin branded products (guitars, ukuleles, strings, and accessories/lifestyle & parts) in existing markets and channels, developing new markets and channels, and selectively pursuing new business opportunities while driving enhanced customer relationships in an increasingly omni-channel environment. </li><li>Strategically ensures that the C.F. Martin & Co., Inc. brand is represented properly within all channels of distribution globally. </li><li>Leads the overall planning, forecasting, and implementation process related to the Sales function producing an integrated sales plan and competitive intelligence system. Partners with Supply Chain, Finance, Global Manufacturing, Marketing, and Product Management to develop and execute strategic programs that support C.F. Martin & Co., Inc. strategies. </li><li>Leads the development and execution of innovative channel strategies and programs, including on-line, direct to consumer, and alternative channels on a global basis. </li><li>Leads sales forecasting and market, sales, and channel data analytics for the company. Supports product management data analytics and insights, including 80/20 analyses. </li><li>Leads service and warranty repair efforts for the company including warranty service, consumer repair, customer service, and end customer and channel interactions related to this business. Ensure sales targets and profitability are met. </li><li>Oversees company stores and direct sales operations (1833 Shop and Buy From Factory (BFF) sales). </li><li>Collaborates with Marketing and web team to maximize sales and minimize channel conflict. </li><li>Leads and manages channel communications including product announcements, price lists, and other tools needed for channels. </li><li>Works in partnership with the President/CEO in enhancing profitability of and customer engagement with the Martin Guitar brand known for its quality, service, and practiced values. </li><li>Oversees Channel Customer Relationship Management (CRM) implementation, adoption, managements, and enhancements. </li><li>Supervises the development and management of departmental budgets. </li><li>Sets annual sales quotas and targets and foreign sales compensation plans. </li><li>Builds and drives key channel programs and manages market development funds and other sales/channel motivation programs. </li><li>Attends and participates in industry activities such as international and national trade shows. </li><li>Remains current on key intelligence from the competitive marketplace, relevant sales trends, and sales innovations to assure company competitiveness. </li><li>Identifies opportunities for developing staff into a high-performing functional team. Assures that successors are developed over time for each key position. </li><li>Evaluates sales and customer service processes, technology and data/analytics capabilities and identifies and leads implementation of opportunities to improve effectiveness and efficiency. </li><li>Participates as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team in the refinement and harmonization of the strategic plan and MBO goals to ensure that the plan and goals are aligned with business objectives. </li><li>Willingness to be involved in local charitable organizations including demonstrating an interest in serving as a Board Member. </li><li>Acts as an ambassador of the organization in the community by supporting and working with local organizations. </li><li>Regularly interacts with and personally supports other Executive Leadership Team members in the development and execution of their key program's key strategies and initiatives. </li></ul> <p>Position Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in a business or related field required. Master's degree preferred. </li><li>15+ years of proven experience in a sales leadership role with a strong background in a manufacturing organization of premium branded consumer products preferred. </li><li>Must demonstrate growth mindset, strong strategic visioning and execution experience. </li><li>Demonstrated success in working effectively in a cross-functional/matrix environment required. </li><li>Knowledge of E-commerce domestic and international selling and customer engagement required. </li><li>Extensive multichannel and omnichannel sales experience required. </li><li>Proven leadership ability in an organization where culture creates a strategic advantage required. </li><li>Strong ability to create collaboration, use consensus building, foster cross-learning, and engage in open door communication required. </li><li>Dynamic leadership and teambuilding capacity with a successful track record of staff development/coaching required. </li><li>Regularly interacts with and personally supports other Executive Leadership Team members in the development and execution of their key program's key strategies and initiatives. </li><li>Extensive domestic and international travel required. </li><li>Ability to perform in a dynamic environment, managing multiple programs required. </li><li>Strong analytical skills and excellent oral and written communication skills required. </li><li>Ability to navigate complex organizational dynamics required. </li><li>Strong passion for music and/or a musician a plus. </li><li>Bi-lingual or multi-lingual a plus. </li></ul> <p>A condition of employment is that all candidates are required to complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check.</p>
