<p>Position Title: Director of Secondary Schools</p> <p>Salary Range: Regionally Competitive</p> <p>Contract Length: Contractual Year</p> <p>Immediate Supervisor: Executive Director of Curriculum and Instruction</p> <p>Basic Function:</p> <p>Plan, organize, control and direct operations and activities involved in the planning, development,</p> <p>implementation and evaluation of all Director of Secondary Schools assignments; coordinate and</p> <p>direct the research, collection, processing, analysis, interpretation and reporting of assessment data in</p> <p>the evaluation of the educational effectiveness of educational programs, operations and instructional</p> <p>activities.</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>? Facilitate program development and practices for intermediate centers and high schools aligned</p> <p>with the Association of Middle Level Education and high school level education.</p> <p>? Provide coaching and professional development for secondary school administrators and teachers</p> <p>in the areas of curriculum, assessment, and instruction</p> <p>? Ensure development and implementation for Common Core at the secondary school level</p> <p>? Identify and create capacity for engagement with Coaching for Results and Educator Teaching</p> <p>and Learning Initiative</p> <p>? Engage in cultivating and facilitating university and community partnerships which support</p> <p>secondary education</p> <p>? Organize and support programs and practice which impact secondary schools</p> <p>? Ensure intermediate centers effectively implement HEA 1419</p> <p>? Assist and support implementation of the Administrator and Teacher Growth and</p> <p>Proficiency system</p> <p>? Assist in development and implementation of professional development and coaching for</p> <p>administrators and teachers</p> <p>? Attend all regularly scheduled meetings of the Board of Education</p> <p>? Direct the work of secondary school principals</p> <p>? Collaborate with the Chief of Education and Innovation Services and Title I program</p> <p>administrator in curriculum development and implementation</p> <p>? Perform other duties assigned by the Chief of Education and Innovation Services</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>Must have strong planning, listening, organizational, supervisory, analytical, problem-solving, computer, organizational, accountability, multi-tasking, flexibility, resourcefulness, and oral and written communications skills. Incumbents</p> <p>must possess knowledge of the comprehensive organization, operations, policies and objectives of</p> <p>assigned department or area.</p> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to</p> <p>successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
