Assists with the design, development and installation of software solutions. Helps build high-quality, innovative and fully performing software in compliance with internal architecture, development & design standards & best practices. Helps design, modify, develop, write, implement and troubleshoot software programming applications. Supports and/or installs software applications. Participates in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software. Works within a Waterfall or Agile methodology/framework based team. We're powering the future - today!</p> <p>What You'll Do:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Support OSI-Monarch's Power System Applications, including Automatic Generation Control (AGC).</p> </li><li> <p>Troubleshoot and support the operational SCADA environment to ensure optimized monitoring and reliable system reporting.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain custom database configurations for Monarch.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide on-call support after hours (24/7) on a rotational basis.</p> </li></ul> <p>What We're Looking For:</p> <p>Solution Engineer Associate (SG5):</p> <p>Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field is required.</p> <p>Experience: No additional experience is required.</p> <p>An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.</p> <p>Solution Engineer (SG6):</p> <p>Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field is required.</p> <p>Experience: 2 years of relevant work experience is required.</p> <p>An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.</p> <p>Nice-To-Have:</p> <p>Experience/Skills:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Basic understanding of NERC CIP security principles.</p> </li><li> <p>Familiarity with WAN and VPN concepts.</p> </li><li> <p>Basic knowledge of the C programming language.</p> </li><li> <p>Awareness of communication protocols such as DNP3, Modbus, and ICCP.</p> </li><li> <p>Understanding of ladder logic.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of Remote Terminal Units (RTUs).</p> </li><li> <p>Experience in workstation management for patches and support.</p> </li></ul> <p>Location: Prefer candidate to live within 50 miles of Columbus, OH</p> <p>What You'll Get:</p> <p>Solution Engineer Associate (SG5): $61,647.00-$77,057.50</p> <p>Solution Engineer (SG6): $72,380.00-$90,474.50</p> <p>In addition to a competitive compensation, AEP offers a unique comprehensive benefits package that aims to support and enhance the overall well-being of our employees.</p> <p>#LI-REMOTE</p> <p>#AEPCareers</p> <p>Compensation Data</p> <p>Compensation Grade:</p> <p>SP20-005</p> <p>Compensation Range:</p> <p>$61,647.00-77,057.50 USD</p> <p>The Physical Demand Level for this job is: S - Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (Occasionally: activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently.
