Pay ranges are listed as hourly for non-exempt employees and based on assumed full time commitment for exempt employees.</p> <p>Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum</p> <p>$36.32 - $43.38 - $53.23</p> <p>Respiratory Therapist</p> <p>Location: Baystate Pulmonary Rehab</p> <p>Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM)</p> <p>About Baystate Pulmonary Rehab</p> <p>Baystate Pulmonary Rehab provides comprehensive, multidisciplinary care for patients with chronic lung diseases. The program focuses on improving quality of life through individualized treatment plans that combine exercise training, education, symptom management, and support for long-term self-care. Our team collaborates closely with patients, families, and referring providers to help individuals safely build strength, manage symptoms, and achieve better overall respiratory health.</p> <p>Summary</p> <p>Respiratory Therapists, working under the general supervision of a physician, are responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating disorders that affect breathing. In this role, you will perform diagnostic cardiopulmonary evaluations by acquiring, analyzing, and interpreting data obtained from diagnostic tests and clinical specimens. You will play an essential role in supporting patient health, safety, and recovery within the pulmonary rehabilitation setting.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:</p> <ol> <li>Diagnostic Testing </li></ol> <ul> <li> <p>Independently perform and collect diagnostic information, including:</p> </li><li> <p>Six-Minute Walk Test</p> </li><li> <p>Oxygen evaluation</p> </li></ul> <ol start="2"> <li>Respiratory Therapeutics </li></ol> <ul> <li> <p>Administer and support respiratory care therapies such as:</p> </li><li> <p>Artificial airway management and care</p> </li><li> <p>Airway clearance techniques</p> </li></ul> <ol start="3"> <li>Patient Assessment </li></ol> <ul> <li>Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including physical examinations and interpretation of diagnostic data. </li></ul> <ol start="4"> <li>Therapy Assessment and Modification </li></ol> <ul> <li> <p>Adjust therapies based on patient response and laboratory results.</p> </li><li> <p>Monitor patients, check and adjust equipment as needed, and recommend therapy modifications to physicians.</p> </li><li> <p>Discontinue therapies as ordered.</p> </li></ul> <ol start="5"> <li>Disease Management </li></ol> <ul> <li>Support patients in managing acute and chronic respiratory diseases. </li></ul> <ol start="6"> <li>Discharge Planning & Case Management </li></ol> <ul> <li>Participate in discharge planning and case management to ensure safe transitions of care. </li></ul> <ol start="7"> <li>Safety & Equipment Maintenance </li></ol> <ul> <li> <p>Follow department policies, procedures, and quality assurance standards, including safety, environmental, and infection-control guidelines.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with equipment care, report malfunctions, coordinate repairs, and document maintenance.</p> </li></ul> <ol start="8"> <li>Education & Precepting </li></ol> <ul> <li>Precept new staff and learners as directed, including respiratory therapists, residents, PURCH students, pharmacy students, exercise physiology students, and respiratory therapy students. </li></ul> <ol start="9"> <li>Professional Development </li></ol> <ul> <li>Meet and maintain the clinical ladder requirements for a Level II Respiratory Therapist. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>Required: Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy</p> </li><li> <p>Preferred: 1 year of clinical respiratory care experience</p> </li></ul> <p>Education:</p> <p>Associates of Science: Respiratory Therapy (Required)</p> <p>Certifications:</p> <p>Basic Life Support - American Heart AssociationAmerican Heart AssociationAmerican Heart Association, Registered Respiratory Therapist - State of MassachusettsState of MassachusettsState of Massachusetts, Registered Respiratory Therapist - The National Board for Respiratory CareThe National Board for Respiratory CareThe National Board for Respiratory Care</p> <p>Equal Employment Opportunity Employer</p> <p>Baystate Health is an Equal Opportunity employer.
