We are looking for talented and highly-motivated individuals who demonstrate a natural desire to support the meaningful work of community oncologists and the patients we serve.</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>The Team Lead - Patient Services provides total medical office support including registration and scheduling functions. Provides support to the Manager(s) and serves as the patient service lead for the clinic. In absence of the Manager(s) this position has oversight of the clinic Patient Services operations.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Assists Manager(s) with assessing staffing needs</p> </li><li> <p>Meets with Manager(s) as needed to discuss front office issues</p> </li><li> <p>Assists Manager(s) with audits/reports as needed</p> </li><li> <p>Provides feedback to management regarding possible areas of improvement or concern</p> </li><li> <p>Ensures up-to-date documentation on patient's accounts in Electronic Medical Record and Patient Management System</p> </li><li> <p>Communicates issues, needs, or any other staff/clinic information directly with Operations Manager</p> </li><li> <p>Performs front office duties as necessary, which includes but is not limited to:</p> </li><li> <p>Performs all responsibilities as outlined in the Patient Services Coordinator job description</p> </li><li> <p>Functions as a preceptor to newly hired staff</p> </li><li> <p>Assists with education and training of existing staff on new or revised processes</p> </li><li> <p>Acts as a mentor/role model for the front office staff</p> </li><li> <p>Answers the telephones and greets patients in a courteous, efficient manner. Routes calls/messages to appropriate discipline/department</p> </li><li> <p>Conducts patient check-in and check-out functions. Obtains pre-patient registration, demographic and insurance information. Collects co-payments and/or payments at time of service and manages end of day procedure to include daily deposit and sign in sheets. Schedules patient appointments, tests and admissions.</p> </li><li> <p>Opens and distributes mail as required. Electronically scans appropriate patient related records into the EMR. Distributes outbound correspondence or copies of records as necessary.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work any reports that pertain to the front office</p> </li><li> <p>Makes self readily available to front office staff to discuss any issues or concerns</p> </li><li> <p>Assists with investigating and resolving patient/visitor concerns/complaints</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrates excellent customer service. Responds promptly to patient, physician, manager, clinic, or other department requests.</p> </li><li> <p>Communicates to other staff members using Instant Messaging System.</p> </li><li> <p>Adheres to practice guidelines and Tennessee Oncology Policy and Procedures</p> </li><li> <p>Participates on committees when requested</p> </li><li> <p>Assumes responsibility for personal and professional growth</p> </li><li> <p>Strives to maintain a positive work environment for physicians and staff</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains a professional attitude toward other employees conducting his/herself in a professional manner</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to travel/float to other clinics for business needs</p> </li><li> <p>Other duties as assigned</p> </li></ul> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Strong computer skills including Windows file management and MS Office, and e-mail experience. Electronic Medical Records experience required </li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills </li><li>Ability to work productively and effectively in a fast-paced environment </li><li>Strong organizational skills and attention to detail </li><li>Excellent customer service skills </li></ul> <p>EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:</p> <ul> <li>High school graduate or equivalent with GED. </li><li>5 years' experience in a professional office with customer service required. </li><li>Minimum of 6 months experience in current role as a qualified Preceptor or signed off on comps as a Patient Services Coordinator. </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS</p> <ul> <li>Able to travel to satellite clinics when necessary. </li><li>Able to lift 25 pounds. </li></ul>
