We seek applicants who demonstrate leadership in the field of finance or banking with the capabilities necessary to lead this new Program and work effectively with students, university faculty and administration, and banking industry leaders. This is an exciting opportunity for an industry expert who is passionate about advancing research, shaping future leaders and building collaborative relationships across the industry.</p> <p>This appointment will be as a part-time Assistant Professor for a period of three years, renewable thereafter on an annual basis at Central's discretion. Financial professionals evaluate all business & financial risks & returns in business decisions. Using economic theory & the techniques of accounting & statistics, financial managers direct funds acquisition, funds management, or investment. Graduates may pursue careers in corporate financial management, banking, insurance, investments, and government. Finance faculty are well-qualified, PhD-trained scholars with extensive backgrounds in financial management and investments, both domestic and international. Their practical experience provides depth to the academic material and enriches the classroom experience.</p> <p>About Central's Certificate in Banking Excellence Program</p> <p>The Program is a partnership between Central and members of the banking industry - broadly defined to include banks and other financial institutions and firms from industries seeking employees with banking knowledge and skills ("banking industry"). Central provides the curriculum, credentialing and facilities in the partnership while banking industry supporters provide internships, extracurricular activities and financial support. Banking industry supporters are members of a Program Advisory Council that provides the Program Executive Director and School of Business Dean with advice and counsel to ensure that the Program successfully develops graduates who are desirable candidates for jobs in the banking industry.</p> <p>Position Profile</p> <p>The Endowed Chair of the American Savings Foundation in Banking and Finance will have a record of recognition in banking, finance or financial services. Such professional experience must be significant in duration and level of responsibility and current at the time of hiring. The American Savings Foundation Endowed Chair will focus on "real-world" banking and finance by educating our students and as director of the Banking Excellence program. The Chair will be expected to foster collaborative interactions between Central and the banking and financial industry by engaging in the activities and producing the outcomes listed below:</p> <ul> <li>Teaching- teach one or two courses each semester to support the Certificate in Banking Excellence or department, that include, as appropriate, guest lectures by executives in the banking and finance industries. </li><li>Organize an annual public lecture by a prominent banker, financier, or media personality to talk about current issues in banking and finance. </li><li>Networking - Foster closer relationships between the School of Business and local, regional, and national banks. </li><li>Publicity- Work collaboratively with the Dean of the School of Business and Vice President for Institutional Advancement to publicize and celebrate all School of Business activities. </li><li>Certificate in Banking Excellence - Overall leadership of the program; management of the program Advisory Council, comprised of banking industry supporters. </li></ul> <p>Applicant Evaluative Criteria</p> <p>Applicant profiles and supplementary materials will be evaluated for appointment based on the following:</p> <p>Education:</p> <p>All applicants must possess a Bachelor's Degree.</p> <p>Experience and Training:</p> <ul> <li>10+ years of experience in banking, finance or financial services </li><li>Ability to teach at the collegiate level, develop programs in the areas of banking and finance, and engage in local community outreach with business leaders in banking, finance or financial services. </li></ul> <p>Ideal Candidate</p> <p>Preference will be given to applicants with the following:</p> <ul> <li>A Master's degree </li><li>Industry Certifications (CFA, CFP, CMA, CPA, etc.) </li><li>Experience developing programs in the areas of banking and finance </li><li>Experience engaging in local community outreach with business leaders in banking, finance or financial services. </li></ul> <p>To Apply</p> <p>To begin the application process, select the "Apply" button and electronically submit the following documents by August 4, 2025.</p> <ul> <li>Letter of interest addressing the qualifications for this position. </li><li>Current Résumé </li><li>Names of three current professional references with title, email addresses and telephone numbers. </li></ul> <p>Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
