Participates in development of and assists with implementation of improvement plans.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides knowledge and guidance to college stakeholders in specialized areas such as but not limited to: biosafety, chemical, hazardous materials, BBP, and OSHA.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensures college is in compliance with all applicable federal, state and local regulations and standards. This includes inventory, ordering and disposal management.</p> </li><li> <p>Under direction of supervisor, coordinates safety training for faculty and staff including managing compliance and recordkeeping of such. This extends to First Aid/CPR/BLS area as well.</p> </li><li> <p>Carries out workplace safety program and logistical activities working with local designated contacts and system level EHS team.</p> </li><li> <p>Makes recommendations for improvement.</p> </li><li> <p>Minimal purchasing, scheduling and coordination for external inspections, remediation, resources or supplies and all other duties as assigned.</p> </li><li> <p>Minimal Physical Requirements -Light lifting, occasional exposure to mild environment elements, minor safety hazards</p> </li><li> <p>Environment: Primarily office-based with frequent visits to laboratories, classrooms, and other campus facilities to conduct safety assessments.</p> </li><li> <p>Physical Requirements: Occasional lifting or moving of safety equipment and hazardous materials; ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Exposure: May involve limited exposure to chemicals, biological materials, and other hazardous substances during inspections and compliance activities.</p> </li><li> <p>Schedule: Standard business hours with flexibility for emergency response or special projects; occasional training sessions outside normal hours.</p> </li><li> <p>Travel: Minimal, typically within campus locations.</p> </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Occupational Health Science, Environmental Health & Safety or related field or equivalent and 2 years relevant experience in health and safety related field.</p> </li><li> <p>Familiarity with federal, state, and local safety regulations and compliance requirements</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to design, deliver, and track safety training programs for faculty and staff</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent planning, coordination, and recordkeeping skills to ensure compliance and maintain accurate documentation.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to collaborate across departments and influence safety culture.</p> </li><li> <p>Detail-oriented, self-motivated, ability to work independently and adapt seamlessly to fast-paced, dynamic environments.</p> </li><li> <p>Skilled in engaging and supporting students from different cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent verbal and written communication skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Proven ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and meet tight deadlines.</p> </li><li> <p>Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Forms, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Word)</p> </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Occupational Health Science, Environmental Health & Safety or related field or equivalent and 3 years relevant experience in health and safety related field.</p> </li><li> <p>Comfortable providing guidance and expertise to faculty, staff, and administrators.</p> </li><li> <p>OSHA 10 Certification</p> </li><li> <p>Associate Safety Professional (ASP)</p> </li><li> <p>Previous experience in a community college setting</p> </li></ul> <p>Employee Rights - Employee Polygraph Protection Act</p> <p>Equal Opportunity Employer - The Kentucky Community and Technical College System is an equal educational and employment opportunity institution.</p>
