<p>The City of Savannah is seeking an energetic and detail-oriented individual to join our Recreation & Leisure Services team as the Center Supervisor. This position oversee and operate a multi-purpose recreation facility that may include a fitness center, gymnasium, computer lab, multi-purpose rooms or after school site. This managerial position is responsible for supervising staff and overseeing recreation activities, rentals, maintenance of equipment and daily operations of an assigned recreation center. May require evening and weekend shifts. </p> <p>We offer an excellent benefits package to include health, dental and vision, defined contribution plan (457b), life insurance, wellness programs, vacation, sick leave, paid holidays, employee assistance program, home buyers program, tuition reimbursement and more!</p> <p>Apply Today!!!</p> <ul> <li>Oversee fiscal management, budget planning, implementation, execution and monitoring achievement of defined facility revenue and expense goals </li><li>Monitor daily admissions, facility passes, fitness, wellness, and recreation programs, and facility permits. </li><li>Supervise staff including maintenance, program, and the customer service of staff </li><li>Oversees and monitors vendor, agency and individual contracts at the facility. </li><li>Participateinstaffconferencesinplanningcomprehensiverecreationprograms </li><li>Investigate and take action on requests, suggestions or complaints concerning recreation services. </li><li>Provide leadership by introducing new programs, equipment and facilities to staff members and the community. </li><li>Order equipment and supplies as needed. </li><li>Responsibleforinventorycontrolofequipmentandmaterialsallocatedtoprograms. </li><li>Establish and maintain partnerships with agencies, neighborhood groups and user groups for developing an effective recreation plan for the community. </li><li>Respond to emergency situations. </li><li>Complete and maintain statistical reports on programming, attendance, facility usage and other necessary topics. </li><li>Promote the use of a facility for recreational use and permit opportunities. </li><li>Create and manage staff schedules, coaching employees and annual reviews. </li><li>Approve program proposals from staff. </li><li>Complete monthly safety checklists and site inspections Supervise fulltime, parttime and temporary employees. </li><li>Complete monthly safety checklists and site inspections. </li><li>Perform other related duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Leisure or a related field or 2 years supervisory and customer service experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.</p> <p>Licenses and Certifications</p> <ul> <li>CPR and First Aid Certification (complete within 6 months) </li><li>CPRP - Certified Park and Recreation Professional preferred </li></ul> <p>Work Hours: Varies Work Location: Varies</p> <p>(May require evening and weekend shifts)</p> <p>Additional Requirements Background investigation, including supervised drug screen, post offer/pre-employment medical screen; and verification of education, certifications, and licenses required prior to employment.Knowledge of</p> <ul> <li>Principles, practices, and techniques of public recreation programs and the needs of all levels and age groups </li><li>Facilities and equipment required in both indoor and outdoor recreation activities </li></ul> <p>Skills</p> <ul> <li>Leadership in various recreational activities, including supervisory skills. </li><li>Preparing concise and accurate reports. </li><li>Developing work standards. </li><li>Develop, promote, schedule and coordinate programs, classes and special events. </li><li>Meeting the needs of diverse populations. </li><li>Defining work methods. </li><li>Communicating effectively both orally and inwriting. </li><li>Managing multiple tasks concurrently. </li></ul> <p>Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Adaptability: Maintaining effectiveness when experiencing major changes in work responsibilities or environment; adjusting effectively to work within new work structures, processes, requirements, or cultures. </li><li>Applied Learning: Assimilating and applying new job-related information in a timely manner </li><li>Building Trust: Interacting with others in a way that instills confidence in one's intentions and those of the organization. </li><li>Communication: Clearly conveying information and ideas through a variety of media to individuals or groups in a manner that engages the audience and helps them understand and retain the information provided. </li><li>Customer Focus: Ensuring that the customer perspective is a driving forces behind business decisions and activities; crafting and implementing service practices that meet customers' and own organization's needs. </li><li>Developing Others: Planning and supporting the development of individuals' skill and abilities so that they can fulfill current or future job/role responsibilities more effectively. </li><li>Initiating Action: Taking prompt action to accomplish objectives; taking action to achieve goals beyond what is required; being proactive </li><li>Planning and Organizing: Establishing courses of action for self and others to ensure that work is completed efficiently.
