<p>Luther Manor is seeking a Life Enrichment Specialist with Music Therapy being a bonus</p> <p>1st Shift (3 days a week which includes 1 Saturday a month)</p> <p>As a Life Enrichment Specialist, you will: plan, organize and implement a variety of educational and recreational programs with the intent of fostering independence of the resident regarding their physical, mental, social and emotional needs.</p> <p>Essential Job Functions:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Coordinates and/or conducts programs for residents that are educational, recreational, and social.</p> </li><li> <p>?Conducts group programs and one-on-one visits.</p> </li><li> <p>?Organizes and executes tours on and off campus for residents as well as instructs and supervises volunteers involved.</p> </li><li> <p>Keep current and proper records of resident involvement and response.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide residents encouragement and cueing to attend Life Enrichment opportunities offered.</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinate and assign volunteer interaction as appropriate.</p> </li><li> <p>Promote an environment of open communication between co-workers/multi-disciplinary team.</p> </li><li> <p>Follows state and federal regulations, as outlined in the Employee Handbook, Human Resources Manual, and Resident Bill of Rights, and adheres to safety rules.</p> </li><li> <p>?Reports potential/actual safety hazards to supervisors and/or Director of Safety and Security immediately.</p> </li><li> <p>Other duties as assigned.?</p> </li><li> <p>??Experience and/or education in programming, organizing and working with older adults.</p> </li><li> <p>?Clear communication skills both verbal and written, as well as tact and courtesy when working with various levels/capabilities of residents and their families and friends.</p> </li><li> <p>?Ability to keep accurate and clear records according to Luther Manor and HFS 83.</p> </li><li> <p>?Assist in the transfer and transportation of residents with the average resident weight of 165 pounds.</p> </li><li> <p>?Use a team approach with all staff and departments.</p> </li><li> <p>?Must function independently; have flexibility, and the ability to work effectively with all staff, residents and families.</p> </li><li> <p>?Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends in accordance with resident needs and desires.</p> </li><li> <p>?Ability to prioritize and be organized.</p> </li></ul>
