As a Youth Specialist with Samaritas, you'll provide direct supervision and support to refugee youth in a residential setting-helping them feel safe, valued, and empowered to thrive.</p> <p>What You'll Do:</p> <ul> <li>Create a family-like environment that models positive behaviors and expectations. </li><li>Assist youth with daily routines-meal prep, medication administration, skill-building, and activities. </li><li>Provide safe transportation to appointments and monitor overnight activity. </li><li>Be a trusted mentor and advocate for youth navigating trauma, displacement, and cultural adjustment. </li></ul> <p>What We're Looking For:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent required. </li><li>Ability to learn de-escalation techniques and become CPR/First Aid certified. </li><li>Direct care experience in mental health or working with vulnerable populations preferred. </li><li>Bi-lingual in Spanish strongly preferred. </li><li>Must be 21 years or older, have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and meet vaccine requirements. </li><li>Full time, part time and contingent roles available. </li></ul> <p>Pay Rate: $22.00/hr for Spanish speaking and $20.00/hr for non-Spanish speakingLocation: Grand Rapids, MI</p> <p>Why Samaritas?We're a Michigan-based human services organization rooted in compassion and transformation.
