The Riverside Magnet School is a public magnet school in East Hartford serving children ages 3 through Grade 5. Valid Connecticut certification for elementary education is required. Goodwin University Magnet Schools is an Equal Opportunity Employer.</p> <p>Employment will begin in immediately.</p> <p>The Substitute Teacher is responsible for coordinating the activities of staff members who work with students in the classroom. The Substitute Teacher will report to the Principal of the Riverside Magnet School.</p> <p>SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Work cooperatively with staff, parents, colleagues, and administrators. </li><li>Maintain professional attitudes and competence. </li><li>Effectively manage student behavior. </li><li>Follow guidelines with regard to record keeping, documentation, and reporting. </li><li>Communicate matters pertaining to self, student, program and agency to the classroom teacher. </li><li>Model appropriate social skills and behaviors. </li><li>Direct and monitor instructors and other persons assigned to the classroom </li><li>Be mindful of any problem or special information about individual students </li><li>Alert administrator to any problem, information, or situations, which may require further action. </li><li>Be punctual in meeting daily time schedules. </li><li>Perform other duties associated with the substitute teaching position. </li></ul> <p>Qualified applicants should send an email to jacosta@goodwinmagnetsystem.org</p>
