<p>The City of Ankeny is accepting applications for individuals interested in helping maintain the golf course and surrounding grounds at the Otter Creek Golf Course. There are two openings, please see work schedules below.</p> <p> Starting wage is $18.50 per hour</p> <p>Shift A:  6:00 AM - 2:30 PM, Monday - Friday (40 hours/week), with some required overtime for weekend work as needed.</p> <p>Shift B: 6:00 am - 10:00 AM, Monday - Friday (20 hours/week), with some required hours for weekend work as needed.</p> <p>Both positions will begin in April and end in mid-November 2026. Pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check required.</p> <p>Questions may be directed to Lennis Berkland, at 515-965-6468. Applications will be accepted online at www.ankenyiowa.gov until position is filled.</p> <p>Application QR Code:</p> <ul> <li>Irrigation repair and maintenance of irrigation systems. </li><li>Changing pin locations. </li><li>Landscapes as directed, including mowing, string trimming, and raking sand traps. </li><li>Makes regular rounds to inspect conditions, pick up trash, and remove debris from the golf course grounds. </li><li>Assists in division building maintenance to keep buildings and grounds clean and neat appearing. </li><li>Other grounds maintenance activities as needed. </li><li>Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions. </li><li>Ability to perform manual labor for extended periods under adverse weather conditions.  </li><li>Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and the public. </li><li>Must be at least 18 years of age. </li><li>Shall maintain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Iowa.  </li></ul> <p>WORK ENVIRONMENT:</p> <ul> <li>Work in extreme weather conditions. </li><li>Works in field environment. </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:</p> <ul> <li>Must be insurable. </li><li>Must be sighted. </li><li>Must be able to hear normal conversation. </li><li>Must be able to speak clearly at normal rate of conversation. </li><li>Must be able to knee, squat, stoop, walk, and climb. </li><li>Must be able to work in wet or dry trenches. </li><li>Must be able to move up and down ladders and walk over uneven terrain. </li><li>Must be able to lift heavy objects weighing up to 75 pounds and carries for short distances. </li><li>Must keep regular and reliable attendance at work. </li></ul>
