The Stepping Stones Group is hiring a full-time Special Education Teacher in Stamford, CT to support middle school students who are medically fragile, using adaptive equipment and AAC (augmentative and alternative communication) devices.</p> <p>This is more than a job-it's a rewarding career opportunity to impact students' lives in a meaningful way while working in a supportive, professional environment.</p> <p>What You'll Do:</p> <ul> <li>Provide individualized instruction and support to middle school students with significant medical needs. </li><li>Develop and implement IEPs (Individualized Education Programs) in collaboration with families, specialists, and school staff. </li><li>Lead and participate in IEP meetings. </li><li>Utilize adaptive equipment, assistive technology, and AAC devices to support student communication and learning. </li><li>Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, school nurses, and therapists to promote inclusive learning environments. </li><li>Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with state and federal guidelines. </li></ul> <p>What We're Looking For:</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree in Special Education from an accredited institution (required). </li><li>Valid Special Education Teaching Certification in the state of Connecticut (required). </li><li>Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a Special Education Teacher. </li><li>Prior experience working with medically fragile students and using adaptive/AAC devices is strongly preferred. </li></ul> <p>Why Choose Us?</p> <ul> <li>Empowering Students - Help kids shine with your innovative teaching techniques and a whole lot of heart.
