This position will teach face-to-face for day, evening, and weekend courses at our partner correctional institution:</p> <ul> <li>Southeastern Correctional - Lancaster, Ohio </li></ul> <p>The starting pay for Adjunct Faculty is $1,016 per credit hour assigned to teach. This position description does not represent in any way a contract of employment. </li></ul> <p>Principal Accountabilities</p> <ul> <li>Plan and organize instruction in ways which maximize student learning </li><li>Prepare, distribute and submit syllabi for all assigned sections in accordance with department and divisional policies </li><li>Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies, use available instructional technology when appropriate </li><li>Modify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse students' needs </li><li>Support classroom and online efforts to promote student success </li><li>Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner to promote learning </li><li>Maintain accurate records of student progress </li><li>Submit final grade rosters according to established deadlines </li><li>Maintain confidentiality of student information </li><li>Cannot exceed maximum of 12 credit hours per semester </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of a master's degree in horticulture, greenhouse management or equivalent required </li><li>Evidence of successful prior teaching experience is preferred </li><li>Professionalism and outstanding written and oral communication skills required </li><li>Ability to effectively use technology required </li><li>Preference will be given to candidates with teaching or training experience in horticulture or greenhouse management with evidence of quality performance </li><li>Demonstration of willingness to pursue professional development activities required </li><li>Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population required </li><li>Ability to teach in a face-to-face environment required </li></ul> <p>Official transcripts for all post-secondary degrees (if applicable) and successful completion of a background check will be required prior to date of hire.</p>
