A-State participates in E-Verify.</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>Arkansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine invites applications for a faculty position in teaching Professional Skills. This will be a 12-month, full time, non-tenure track, Assistant or Associate Professor position. Rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. This will be a predominantly teaching position (85% teaching) and include research/scholarly activities and service. Teaching of DVM students will be in a competency-based veterinary curriculum incorporating lecture, lab and small group learning.</p> <p>Duties & Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Contribute to competency-based curriculum development with a focus on communication skills, professionalism, practice management, personal finance, and ethics and jurisprudence </li><li>Lead development and implementation of assessments for communication, professionalism, collaboration, and business management </li><li>Teach DVM students, with an emphasis on professional skills, in classroom (large and small groups) and laboratory settings </li><li>Lead development and implementation of simulated client scenarios for years 1-4 of the DVM program </li><li>Contribute to college and university committees and/or serve on regional or national professional organizations </li><li>Contribute to scholarly endeavors through collaborative educational research and/or educational innovations </li><li>Develop and oversee externship opportunities for year 1 and 2 students, working with external stakeholders and Clinical Relations DVMs </li><li>Other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:</p> <p>Ability to work collaboratively with other faculty and staff</p> <p>Ability to communicate effectively across CVM stakeholders</p> <p>Ability to prioritize tasks, deliver results in a timely manner and function independently</p> <p>General Days/Hours:</p> <p>Monday - Friday</p> <p>8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m</p> <p>Additional hours as requested and/or needed</p> <p>Regular and reliable attendance</p> <p>Other:</p> <p>Please note: all position postings close at 12:00 A.M.
