<p>Law Librarian</p> <p>Location Brandywine Site</p> <p>Job Code 1613</p> <p># of Openings 1</p> <p>Apply Now</p> <p>EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY</p> <p>DATE: May 8, 2025</p> <p>FROM: Human Resources</p> <p>POSITION: Full-time, Law Librarian, School of Law</p> <p>Effective immediately: Full-time, Law Librarian, School of Law - Wilmington University.</p> <p>Summary: We are seeking a knowledgeable and service-oriented legal professional to support the research, instructional, and reference needs of our growing law school community. This pivotal role enhances the academic experience of Juris Doctor students by delivering expert legal research instruction, maintaining access to high-quality legal information resources, and promoting student engagement through individualized support and outreach. The ideal candidate will be passionate about legal education, technology-enabled research, and fostering inclusive, practice-ready learning environments aligned with the School of Law's mission.</p> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>A Juris Doctor (J.D.) or equivalent is required. A master's degree in library and information science, or an equivalent credential, is preferred. The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of current legal research techniques and resources, teaching experience, superior organizational skills and attention to detail, and excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be proficient with technology for research and administration. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Must have an interest in or familiarity with library databases and electronic resources. Must have an interest in or experience creating research guides. Must demonstrate respect for others in the workplace and a commitment to creating a supportive work environment that values the contributions of all employees. The ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all situations is a must.</p> <p>Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):</p> <ul> <li>Provides in-person and virtual reference service to Wilmington University School of Law students, faculty, staff, and the Wilmington University community. Some evening hours may be required. </li><li>Teaches legal 1L and Advanced legal research courses and participates in curriculum development as needed. </li><li>Participates in Library and Law School committees as requested. </li><li>Develops and participates in student outreach activities; provides support to the Law School's law reviews and moot courts. </li><li>Participates in professional and continuing education activities of local and national professional associations. Pursues opportunities for professional growth and education to maintain a high degree of expertise in legal and law-related information sources, information technology, and instructional methods. </li><li>Promote and foster a supportive environment for all students, faculty, and staff. </li><li>Perform other duties which may be assigned by the Director & Dean of the School of Law. </li></ul> <p>Hours of Employment: Generally, will work Monday-Friday between the hours of 9:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m. or 12:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m.; some hours may be worked remotely. Hours will depend on whether the incumbent is involved in daytime or evening teaching, and whether providing reference availability during the day or evening; some references may be provided virtually. Occasional evenings or weekends as needed for special events.
